BRUTAL LSAT SCORE
Monday, December 03 2012 at 07:00 PM

I know I got an unbelievably abysmal LSAT score but I will do what I can with it. My accolades go on and on, I have been preparing for law school and a career in the legal arena long before undergrad yet nuked the most important factor in candidacy for a "good" school, the LSAT. My HYS hopes have been extinguished since February, overshadowed by my 4th tier realities. While my road seems dark, cold, and lonely, I will prevail. My LSAT score will not be the end of me nor the beginning of my sad story. I was made for this and I will take the road less traveled. Wherever you got in, congratulations, if you arent happy, neither am I but there is a long way between HYS and asking "you want fries with that?" Stay strong, smile, and work hard, if there's a will there's a way, if there's not a way, the will can make one. Good luck (like luck has anything to do with it)

Congrats

Nice Acceptances so far. What's your number 1 school?

Monday, December 03 2012 at 07:00 PM

My number one school choice would most likely be California Western, due to its role in the California Innocence Project, something I would really like to be a part of, just not as a sole career. Given this aspect and San Diego's regional appeal, Cal West most likely holds the numero uno. I am extremely freaked out about attrition rates, employment rates and prospects, and of course incurring potentially life ruining debt but I will roll the dice, I was meant for this, even though my LSAT says otherwise :/ I checked out your profile hopefulmommy and I wish you the best with your applications and future aspirations. Any questions or comments I would love to speak with you more.

Did you do well on your SAT's and ACT's? If not, you can use those scores as a tool to get into places. If you had low scores, they were not an accurate predictor of your college success. Same goes for the LSAT, there is a correlation between SAT verbal/reasoning scores and the LSAT.

Monday, December 03 2012 at 07:00 PM

I actually never took the SAT's or ACT's. In highschool, I was sent to a group home and was taken out of highschool. :/ Its been a journey but its not over :)

Very inspirational first post up there OP. I'm in the same boat with the LSAT. My problem was always the Reading Comp. section and I got nervous on the real thing. My Prep Tests were 151-153.

Simliar numbers. Good luck OP

I like your additional info & updates. I am simply too terrified of the job prospects/placements etc. if I were to attend Cal Western. I'm hoping to get off the wait list at one of the schools I am WL'd at or an acceptance from USF/SW/Santa Clara (more of a reach I feel with S.C.).

Wednesday, February 13 2013 at 07:28 PM

Should I expect to see you at Cal Western?-)

Monday, December 03 2012 at 07:00 PM

Yes sfare1, I am going to SD May 1st to check it out. I have some monster connections in SD and CA so I am hoping the job prospects/placement are irrelevant in consideration, hope being the key emotion in that sentence. The California Innocence project is something that I really want to be involved in, even though criminal law is at the bottom of my aspiration list (strange huh). We'll see but I am 99.9% sure I am going to roll the dice with Cal Western this summer.

You can do better. Good luck!

You seem like a motivated and smart guy. With your GPA, and list of achievements, accolades, there is NO reason why you can't do better on the LSAT if you actually dedicated some time to studying. It's an easy and highly repetitive test; you just need practice. My friend took the LSAT cold and got a 150 which was a bummer and only got into some TTT/TTTT schools. He then spent a solid 2 months preparing for it and rose to an 161 and was wait-listed and then accepted to UC Berkeley last summer. Point is, PLEASE don't sell yourself short with these schools. SUNY Buffalo is not worth going to without a hefty scholarship.

What's your number 1 choice school?

congrats!

Good Luck!

I saw quite white and someone else that had the exact same numbers, so I had to wish you good luck! I'm older....prob much older than you and did terribly on the LSAT. Being older only makes you consider the ROI of going to law school that much more. I agree with the advice your friends gave. Just go.

If you are def. going to Cal Western, could you please withdraw from Univ. of Pacific. I'd appreciate it. I'm on the WL too.

I am likely going to attend Cal Western and I am trying to increase my amount. Is yours 40k per year or is this the total amount over 3 years?
