Seattle U?

Congrats on all your acceptances! I see you were accepted by Seattle U? Could you tell me if you were admitted through the alternative admissions program? With so many options, who do you favor?

DU or SU?

Ha ha nice to know I am not the only one in this situation. I am going out to Denver this weekend for ASD. Are you going? I think as of a few days ago I am leaning toward Denver. They are ranked a little higher. Their placement rates are higher than SU.Housing is a little less expensive in Denver. Seems like the Denver alumni base is large.SU and UW are both in Seattle which I think increases competition for jobs a bit. At least some CU people will be staying in Boulder. Both schools are expensive but I think somewhere I read that Seattle tuition is increasing by like 10%. Also, I am not sure I can deal with rain everyday... What are your thoughts? Are you currently living in WA or CO?

I understand.....

Yea starting in the summer is a bit harsh..But I'd do it to get into Seattle U. I got in Denver last year as long as I completed the CLEO program, which I couldnt because of my family's situation. Both of my decisions are in the mail and I'm hoping for some good news..What about Cal-Western? And is Denver requiring a summer program..?

Denver and SU

Hi, As far as rankings go, if the rumors are true Seattle is jumping Denver in this year's US News. The law school building is VERY impressive. It is 4 stories, high tech, new, and aesthetically pleasing (artwork on the walls etc.). They have an alumni mentorship program which is nice and they place graduates in Seattle BigLaw. They have one of the best legal writing programs in the country. There is plenty of parking for cars on campus, and the bus system in Seattle is really good and tons of people use it (you can buy a parking pass or a bus pass through the school). Yes, Denver might look like a better legal market, but it's a much smaller city than Seattle so I don't think it's that much easier to land a big time job there as there will be fewer openings. Don't forget about the city Bellevue across the bridge for job/internship prospects. It's a decent size city and Perkins Coie even has a branch over there. Tuition between the two schools will be similar next year. The reason it's going up so much at SU is because the school launched a multi million dollar campaign to become the best private university in the Pacific Northwest. I'm guessing their ranking will improve over the years. Seattle is a little more expensive to live, but DU's surrounding neighborhood is blah (I visited the city and campus but not inside the law school). Weather in Denver is better, but the "rain" in Seattle is usually not what people think who have never been there. That said, I might end up picking Denver over Seattle! This process is killing me! I am completely torn between the two schools. If Denver rejects me it will make my decision a lot easier.
