3/18/10: All applications submitted and received by schools
3/20/10: This waiting game blows..anyone else checking LSN, LSD, & E-Mail constantly?
3/22/10: I also applied to Faulkner, which for some reason isn't listed on LSN. Edit: I'm a durka-durka, Faulkner is listed as Jones School of Law on LSN.
3/23/10: I've gotten 'application received' from all of my schools (including Faulkner) except for Mississippi College & Mercer U, who I have heard nothing from. Also, I got an e-mail from Franklin Pierce that my application was complete, and when I checked my status it said that my application had been sent to the committee for review! Fingers Crossed!!
3/24/10: Dear Mercer & Mississippi, Please send me some kind of response so that I know you got my application. You're making me nervous. KTHX.
3/25/10: Okay, so now my application is received at Mercer, are the Mercer admins lurking around LSN?
-cue Twilight Zone music-
Also, I caught myself yesterday figuring up the time between applications going complete and receiving a decision for some of my apps.
3/26/10: So..I'm complete at 5/13 so far, and I've heard from at least 12/13 that they have received my application. Also, today I received fee waivers for Whittier (a general e-mail) & Regent (a mailed letter) Any thoughts on those schools?
04/01/10: Waitlisted at Widener. I got an e-mail around 9a this morning telling me that a decision had been made and to check the status checker. In at Appalachian, no e-mail, I just happened to be checking the status checker and it said: Congratulations, you're admitted! It shows that they have mailed me an acceptance letter.
04/02/10: In at Nashville School of Law via snail mail.
04/03/10: In at Faulkner via snail mail. Also, received the official acceptance letter from Appalachian today.
04/05/10: So, I have 2 days off of work, but I have no money and I'm stuck at home. This means that I'm basically hitting refresh on all of the status checkers and stalking the mail man. Also, I'm considering a road trip down to visit Faulkner in Montgomery. I will be So glad when this cycle is over.
04/06/10: Finally complete at Texas Southern and Mississippi College.
04/07/10: In at OKCU via e-mail, letter to follow. I'm kind of excited about it too, because I got a follow up e-mail about 15 minutes after saying that they would reimburse me up to $200 for a visit since I'm an admitted student!
04/12/10: No news yet from any other schools, I think they're playing hard to get. Also, I received an e-mail from a school that I haven't even applied to telling me that with my numbers that I am eligible for $0 of scholarship. This is the 2nd time this has happened (the first was a diff. school). I know my numbers are low '$0-scholarship-law-schools', but that is no reason to send me depressing e-mails. Kindly get your stuff together. KTHX.
4/15/10: Put a call in to Southern and found out that my application is complete and in review. Status apparently changed to In Review at Franklin Pierce on the 10th. Called Western New England and was told to expect a decision in about 3 weeks. Also I called Dayton and they said that they would have an admissions counselor call me back.
4/17/10: Had a dream that my status changed at Pierce to 'decision mailed' and that it was a rejection. Let's hope it was just a nightmare! Also, someone at work the other day gave me a lecture about how I "should never go to law school b/c once you get out you practice with backstabbing jerks and it sucks." As if I wasn't nervous enough about the debt, now I'm scared that I shouldn't even go to law school. I could really use some good news about now.
4/21/10: Got official acceptance package from Oklahoma City. They took almost 2 weeks to mail my letter, and they want me to send them my first seat deposit or withdraw by next Friday. Add that to their admissions person never returning any of my calls, and Faulkner is still at the top, sorry OKCU.
4/22/10: I'll be visiting Faulkner soon, and I've spoken with their admissions dept. several times, and they have been Extremely helpful and friendly with answering all of my questions. =)
4/26/10: Got an e-mail from Miss. College today saying that I'm waitlisted and that they will review on or around June 1 and give me a decision then. Also, I found out via status checker that a decision was made at Texas Southern and mailed to me on Monday. Hopefully it's good news!
05/01/10: Well, six days after the 'decision mailed' status change I finally got a letter from Tex Southern saying that if any of their outstanding offers were refused then they would reconsider me for admissions, but for now I'm on their wait list. At least it's not a flat out rejection, but more than likely I'll be calling Tex Southern and Appalachian Monday to officially withdraw from consideration.
Also, I finally got to Montgomery for a two day visit at Faulkner. I was very impressed by the Admissions office and Finance office staff. They were very patient and spent about 3 hours answering all of my questions and taking me on a tour of the law building.
05/04/10: As those of you in TN know, and for those of you who don't know b/c the Nat'l media is ignoring it, there has been massive flooding here. I've withdrawn from all of my accepted and waitlisted schools except for the Nashville School of Law. A great scholarship anywhere else (Highly Unlikely) withstanding I will most likely I will be attending there and trying to help the relief effort in Nashville and Franklin.
05/06/10: Well, considering my numbers, I consider myself pretty lucky that I've only just received my first rejection from South Texas College of Law.
05/10/10: Rejected at Western New England via snail mail, the letter was dated Cinco de Mayo.
05/19/10: Checked my Mercer status to find: Admission denied. Kinda harsh, but mostly expected. Still no word from Dayton, Southern, or Pierce. I promised Pierce cookies if they admitted me. Perhaps I should make them brownies as well? Or pie? Everyone loves pie..
05/21/10: Apparently my baking sucks, I got rejected via status checker and the mailings thing said that they also sent the decision via mail. =/
06/25/10: Finally got a wait list letter from Dayton, kinda funny that it took them from March to June to tell me they're just not That into me, and then they tell me to reply as soon as possible to them. Maybe I'll send it in in August? Hmm..
Ah I totally agree! This waiting game is killing me. I am constantly connected to the internet and dying for a positive response. Once I receive one I'll feel so much better! Good luck on your journey.
