- Waiting on December 08 LSAT results

- I'm planning on sending a mix tape to all the schools I apply

- Received a Cat Calendar for Christmas - weird

- Received LSAT results, much lower than expected, Screwed up the first section, was averaging about 5-6 points higher, disappointing - yes but still good enough to get into some great schools, plus it was still much higher than my first score

Additional info & updates

- I will post decisions as they come in - I applied to a lot of schools but wanted to give myself options
____________________________________________________________

- 01/19/09 - *Twiddles thumbs while whistling*
____________________________________________________________

- 01/29/09 - Received log in information for Univ. of Miami in an email, I logged in to find out I was admitted. It's official, my first acceptance - I'm going someplace for law school in the fall! Also all schools have requested my report so other than filling out FAFSA/Need Access I just sit back and wait for decisions now
____________________________________________________________

- 01/30/09 - Received admissions packet in the mail from University of the Pacific - McGeorge dated 1/27 telling me I'm accepted with a $12,000 a year scholarship and 1st year books are also included which I thought was cool, books can get expensive
____________________________________________________________

- 02/02/09 - Received Waitlist from Loyola-Chicago via snail mail - I really thought I had a good shot here, kind of bummed about this one, I will remain on the waitlist, send a LOCI and see what happens, Also accepted to Marquette with more information to come later
____________________________________________________________

- 02/03/09 - Received official admissions packet from Miami, no scholarship info yet...hopefully some to come - Miami is expensive.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/04/09 - Received email telling me I have been accepted to University of Denver's Day program. The status checker had been at "Decision Processed" for about a week before I got this email. I do like Denver and Colorado....I'm hoping for scholarship information later...no mention of it in the email.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/07/09 - Received Denver admissions packet in the mail. Extremely disappointed in no scholarship info. It seems most people received scholarships in the admissions packet so it looks like no money at Denver but I'll still hold onto hope that a scholarship might be in the future.

____________________________________________________________

- 02/09/09 - Received acceptances to Tennessee (small envelope), Seton Hall (Large Packet) and also received the Marquette acceptance packet in the mail. Good mail day. Very excited right now.

____________________________________________________________

- 02/10/09 - Received a phone call from the Dean at University of Richmond. She seemed very nice and I thought it was very cool to receive a call. She said she hopes to get me scholarship money so we'll see how much it is. I haven't heard a bad thing about Richmond so with the personal touch they give I am definitely keeping them on my list.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/11/09 - Received email inviting me to admitted students days at the University of Houston and also received email acceptance with a link to the admitted students page. Another great option!
____________________________________________________________

- 02/13/09 - Accepted by email to the University of Kentucky, formal letter to come later, very quick turnaround for them, this was the last application I sent out, also received official acceptance from Houston in the mail.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/17/09 - Received letter in large envelope from University of San Diego dated 2/9 informing me of my acceptance
____________________________________________________________

- 02/19/09 - Received acceptance packet in large envelope from DePaul. In with a scholarship. Also received, in a separate package, a DePaul College of Law T-shirt. Nice Touch. I really, really, really love the city of Chicago.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/21/09 - Lewis and Clark acceptance via snail mail - scholarship included. Portland is nice but still an expensive option. It would be nice to live in the PNW though.
____________________________________________________________

- 02/23/09 - Accepted to Temple via their status checker...I'll be waiting for the acceptance in the mail, received scholarship offers from Marquette and Kentucky - Kentucky reduces tuition to Resident status for all 3 years
____________________________________________________________

- 02/26/09 - Received $21,000 Scholarship/Grant from University of San Diego for the first year
____________________________________________________________

- 03/03/09 - Received "Hold" email from Iowa, seems like a waitlist to me, I'm marking it as such. I would like this one to happen.
____________________________________________________________

- 03/07/09 - Received Waitlist from Washington and Lee via snail mail.
____________________________________________________________

- 03/10/09 - Received Waitlist email from Wake Forest...and the waitlists are rolling in.......In other news I just checked the status checker at Seattle University and I'm in!
____________________________________________________________

- 03/13/09 - In at Villanova via status checker today!
____________________________________________________________

- 03/18/09 - Denied admission to the Fall 2009 semester at Baylor but offered admission to their Spring 2010 semester if I reactivate my file by June...I'll have to think about this.
____________________________________________________________

03/23/09 - Waitlisted at Florida via small letter. Also received "official" waitlist from Iowa.
____________________________________________________________

03/24/09 - Received 10k renewable scholarship at Denver w/ 3.0 via email - it states this is need-based aid.
____________________________________________________________

03/30/09 - In at Oregon with Scholarship. Oregon is very pretty and I wouldn't mind living there.
____________________________________________________________

03/31/09 - Withdrew from a few schools, starting to narrow my list down
____________________________________________________________

04/10/09 - I'm absolutely thrilled to get waitlisted at Boston College.
____________________________________________________________

04/13/09 - Holy Waitlist Explosion Batman! - Waitlisted at Arizona - Also accepted to Florida State via phone call
____________________________________________________________

04/14/09 - Withdrew from a bunch of schools, some of these hurt a lot to withdraw from because of scholarships and/or location. Sometimes I wish I could attend 3 or 4 schools, but I can't so I have to start making decisions.
____________________________________________________________

04/18/09 - As it stands right now, I'll probably go to Tennessee in the fall so I'll put an "A" next to it. I've sent my deposit there and I'm starting to make plans for Knoxville. We'll see how the rest of my applications turn out and also the waitlists but I can't beat the in-state tuition and I would be really happy there. I also was deferred at Chicago-Kent - seriously, can you just make a decision already?
____________________________________________________________

04/20/09 - Waitlisted at Tulane via email...and now rejected at Notre Dame via snail mail
____________________________________________________________

04/30/09 - Received email from the Dean at Chicago-Kent telling me that the admissions committee has accepted me...we'll see if any $$ is involved because that is the only way I will change my mind about Tennessee, also SMU sent an email saying that they need more time to make a decision, they pushed back their decision deadline until May 11th
____________________________________________________________

05/04/09 - Received packet from Chicago Kent. $10,000 a year scholarship with 3.25 GPA requirement. Can renew 50% of Scholarship if I don't meet the 3.25 requirement but stay above a 3.00. OR they give me the option of a unconditional $6,000 a year scholarship. I'm not sure this is enough to sway me from Tennessee with their in-state tuition of only $12,000. I really love Chicago as a city though.
____________________________________________________________

05/13/09 - and that's all she wrote...the last school that I had to hear from, SMU, waitlisted me via status checker....it looks like I'm officially headed to The University of Tennessee in the fall and I'm really happy about it. My waitlist options could change my mind but Tennessee really offers me a great value and it would be hard to pass up.

9 waitlists....that is a lot.
____________________________________________________________

05/20/09 - In off the waitlist today at Loyola-Chicago...
____________________________________________________________

05/21/09 - Phone call from Florida - In off the waitlist but I have to decide by Tuesday...tempting...the cost is the only thing holding me back.
____________________________________________________________

05/27/09 - Withdrew from Florida...that was hard but I think Tennessee is a better fit for me.
____________________________________________________________

07/29/09 - Packing up today and headed to Knoxville tomorrow...where I will officially be a Knoxvillian and a Tennessee Vol

Yeah, I thought I was going to get WL'd at worst.. ahh well, good luck to you as well

Tuesday, June 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

congrats on seton hall and tennessee today! those are awesome acceptances!

Thursday, August 07 2008 at 08:00 PM

good luck to you too! do you want to go there? i think i may withdraw because i'm pretty set on American. So that may alleviate it some! good luck again!

yeah, good luck to you as well. i was pretty thrilled to be waitlisted, honestly. i didn't think i had a chance.

What's good
Thursday, October 16 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks sons. I got a letter of rec from Megatron so I'm sure that helped me out. Holler if you hear about a scholarship from USD; I've got people down there and they think it's Nirvana but it's too expensive without one.

i know right!
Monday, November 10 2008 at 07:00 PM

I thought the same thing about Ga State... and I got waitlisted at FSU... hopefully I'll get off that later.

Tuesday, June 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

wow, you're kicking butt. how many more are you waiting on? are you leaning in one direction yet? are you visiting any schools?

"anonymous" - I will make my decisions with as little or as much time as my family and I need...don't worry, I will follow all school deadlines and withdraw from schools when I feel the time is appropriate.

Congrats
Monday, December 15 2008 at 07:00 PM

Congratulations on all of your acceptances! Looks like you have several choices from which to make your decisions...always helpful! I was just wondering about the phone call from FSU - did you get anything in the mail/status checker/email before the phone call or was it a complete surprise? My boyfriend is waiting to hear back from FSU and we are hoping it will be any day now via phone call...

Tuesday, June 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

yeah, oregon made my choice very easy. it's definitely the best out of all of my choices, and i'm THRILLED! and congrats to you on all of your recent waitlists and acceptances! i know what you mean--withdrawing from some schools is painful. are you leaning towards tennessee now? do you want to practice there? oh, and i'm glad you finally revealed all of your schools! could any pending apps sway you from tenn?

Tuesday, June 10 2008 at 08:00 PM

well good luck with everything! hope BC comes through for you. if not, tennessee seems awesome! and your reasoning is very logical. :-) take care!

thanks
Friday, December 12 2008 at 07:00 PM

thanks, hopefully ill get in like you did! good luck with wherever you go.

Mike - I don't know if you have a profile or not but Boston College notified me through snail mail by USPS. I was very happy to even be waitlisted and have a shot.

Monday, November 10 2008 at 07:00 PM

Nova places better in the NLJ250 by a lot. FSU doesn't place well in FL compared to UF and UM and I thought I'd give my surroundings a change for 3 years atleast... lol

Illinois
Wednesday, December 10 2008 at 07:00 PM

I appreciate the optimism, but this is not the year for the splitter. Besides, as much as I like Illinois, Drexel will be much cheaper.

Thanks!
Tuesday, September 16 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks for the message! Congrats on Tennessee! I loved it there! As of now, I'd be happy there or FSU...if only they'd let me off the hold/wait lists! Maybe we'll be classmates in the fall :)

Saturday, February 21 2009 at 07:00 PM

Did you do anything specific in your Villy application that you believed help you?

Thursday, March 26 2009 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on getting of the waitlist at UF!~

Indiana
Wednesday, December 10 2008 at 07:00 PM

Yeah, I'm completely stoked. As much as I believe Drexel is a top 100 school, Indiana is an amazing opportunity and I would have been crazy to pass it up. Thanks and good luck in TN!
