Additional info & updates

4/8 - Received final decision today. WL at UIUC via status checker.

3/29 - I feel blessed and lucky to have received numerous great offers, but I'm off to IUB next year. It came down to OSU vs. Hoosier Land, and its IUB FTW!

3/24 - WL'd and withdrew at William & Mary. Also received bump in scholarship from OSU to $13,500 per year.

3/13 - Withdrew from Marquette.

3/11 - Sent letters withdrawing from Chicago-Kent, New Mexico, and Kentucky. Good luck to those waiting to hear from those schools.

3/10 - Received two letters via snail mail. One letter informed me that I was not named at the Bert Combs scholar at Kentucky (bad news, will be withdrawing) and another letter informing me that I received a new scholarship amount of $24,000 per year at Nebraska (good news).

3/6 - In at BC via snail mail.

3/3 - OSU scholly info arrived via snail mail. $9,500 per year with a 2.5 GPA requirement.

2/29 - Received full-tuition scholarship plus $10,000 per year stipend from Akron the day after mailing my letter of my intent to withdraw. Whoops.

2/28 - Withdrew from four schools today (Akron, Cincinnati, Tulane, and DePaul). Good luck to those applying to those schools.

2/27 - Received scholarship information from Chicago-Kent via email. Full tuition for the first year and $20,000 for each year after if I maintain a 3.25 GPA (too bad the grading curve is 3.0 and that would be hard to keep.)

2/25 - As expected, out at Michigan.

2/22 - In at Chicago-Kent via email.

2/20 - Received scholarship offer from Marquette ($24K per year). Scholarship is not based on GPA requirement and renewable as long as I remain a full-time student.

2/16 - Received package from Tulane with scholarship information (Dean's Scholarship), which is good for 30K per year and renewable all three years with a 3.0 GPA.

2/15 - Received scholarship offer from UK today ($10,800 per year, which is the difference between resident and non-resident tuition), which is renewable provided I maintain a 2.9 (top 50%).

2/11 (2) - After receiving two mail acceptances this afternoon, I received an e-mail acceptance from Tulane with scholarship information to follow in the mail.

2/11 - In at Kentucky and Marquette via snail mail. No scholarship information, only acceptance letters.

2/8 - Returned from trip to Bloomington to visit IUB and found a small acceptance letter from Ohio State.

2/5 - In at Nebraska-Lincoln via a phone call with $12,000 per year scholarship. Also went to decision at Ohio State today, and status checker says that mail notification will follow.

2/4 - Placed on HOLD at UIUC. Was not denied or waitlisted but will be given a second look at a later date.

2/2 - In at UNM and received scholarship info from UC. Was awarded College of Law Honors Scholarship for $12,000 each year (need to maintain a 2.0 GPA to keep scholarship and remain in good academic standing).

2/1 - In at IUB with a full-tuition scholarship (Board of Visitors Scholarship), which is renewable each year provided I maintain a 3.2 GPA at the end of each academic year.

1/30 - Complete at Michigan.

1/28 - In at DePaul with a Dean's Merit Scholarship of $20,000 per year provided I maintain a 3.3 GPA (although I am not sure what the grading curve is and how hard that would be to keep.)

1/22 - In at Akron and UC via email and phone call.

1/17 - Complete at William and Mary , Tulane, New Mexico and Marquette.

1/14 - First acceptance today with a full-ride scholarship to Baylor. Also complete at BC.

1/10 - Apps starting to go complete. Complete at UVA, UIUC, UC, Baylor and Akron.

1/8 - Finished up some more apps after receiving fee waivers. Added Tulane, William & Mary, Baylor, and Indiana-Bloomington.

1/3 - Email had fee waivers for Saint Louis, UCONN, UALR, Pacific, Cardozo, Tulane, Temple, Vanderbilt, Baylor and William & Mary.

12/20 - LSAT score back today, stoked with my 164.

Hey! Thanks for the input. I am pretty sure I am going to withdraw my application from Florida Coastal. Pending miracles at Temple Loyola and GSU I am kind of leaning toward Seattle with Denver being a close second. Any opinions on those? Congrats on all of your great acceptances so far!

good on you

for getting into so many great schools. But what I don't understand is why certain applicants STOCKPILE acceptances, rather than withdrawing from the schools they won't be attending. You do realize that other people are waiting for those seats, right? Can you or someone else explain this phenomenon to me?

whatever

Thanks for the insults about my LSAT and GPA, but my dad died of cancer during my freshman year and I flunked out. I went back to school after a few years and graduated second in my class. As for the LSAT, well, no excuses for that one. Other than having a wife and kids and a full-time job, which limits one's study time. And anyone who would sit on a seat that they know they're not using is a selfish tool. The whole system breaks down when one individual takes more than his fair share.

I'm sorry about being such a crybaby about your apps. All the stress got to me that day and I've felt shitty about it ever since. Best of luck to you in all your endeavors. A fellow Cubs fan. Jenks
