12-04-07 - Thus far I have applied to 12 schools. There should be more to come, possibly even tonight. I have not received any responses in terms of acceptance or rejection from these schools yet; it may be a bit early because my LSAT is average or below.

*Baylor - I applied to both the Summer and Fall quarters. Since I cannot select Baylor twice, I will update here about that situation when information becomes available.

*Kansas - I indicated I want to start in the summer at Kansas.

*Penn State Dickinson and Nebraska applications were sent out long ago. Nebraska never confirmed to me that they were received until I e-mailed them. Dickinson was a special case because I had a targeted letter and got a R11 code on the LSAC website which held up the process.

12-10-07 - Accepted at Nebraska. Big yellow envelope via snail mail.

12-24-07 - Accepted at Baylor for the summer quarter. This is an interesting story: after religiously checking the mail for letters from law schools I took one day off, Christmas Eve and nobody here checked it. On Christmas morning I was woken by my mother with an acceptance from Baylor. What a gift!

01-10-07 - Accepted at Penn State Dickinson. I applied only to go to the University Park campus. I also received a $15,000 scholarship to be distributed over the 3 year period.

01-17-08 - I got my first rejection letter today from The Ohio State University.

01-19-08 - Accepted at Pittsburgh and LSU. Both came in small white envelopes. As others have mentioned the Pittsburgh documents were held together by a neat Pitt Law clip.

01-24-08 - Accepted at Michigan State with an offer of 75% tuition paid. I calculate this just based on averages to come out to about $23,197 per year.

01-25-08 - LSU has offered me a scholarship in the amount of $9,090 per year, renewable for three years with the condition that I stay in the top 33% of my class.

02-13-08 - Received a phone call from Kansas telling me they would be very interested in having me for their summer semester.

03-17-08 - After waiting a long while (more than a month) to hear anything, I got a rejection letter from UT Knoxville in the mail today. Bummer.

03-28-08 - Rejected at UF. In other news, I took a visit to LSU over this weekend and would be happy to share impressions with someone considering going there.

05-09-08 - I received a rejection letter from Indiana Bloomington yesterday. I had long since decided I would stay in PA and attend Pitt but forgot to update here.

I would like to wish everyone continued luck with their cycle and it will be a pleasure to meet all of my future classmates at Pitt in August! Feel free to contact me or Facebook me: nicholas.lutz@wilkes.edu

Pitt sent a deceptively small envelope. I was convinced it was a rejection until I opened it. Good luck!

Congrats on Baylor - what an awesome Christmas suprise! I'm still waiting to hear from them, glad to hear they sent out more decisions before the holiday. Good luck this cycle!!

I applied for the fall quarter only. Just couldn't see myself starting in the summer, hopefully it won't affect my chances there too much! Thanks for the kind words, by the way - much appreciated. Definitely keep me in the loop about Indiana, I also sent in an application there. Don't know if you've gotten a complete notification from them yet, but they sent a postcard to let me know.

Nebraska

Thanks, and Congrats to you as well. Yes Nebraska is my number one, because the tuition for instate is so cheap, and because it is a top 100 school. Creighton is a strong second, seeing that the schoalrship they offered me almost knocks the price down to UNL's.

I got in yesterday to UNL and baring major scholarships from other schools UNL is my top choice. What is yours, maybe ill see you there!

I agree completely about the IU deferral. Considering my numbers, I'm flattered. I'd love to have your GPA though. I bet that more than makes up the difference for you at places like IU where your LSAT might fall a bit short. Have you heard anything about Nebraska or Lincoln? Are you going to visit now that you're in?

CONGRATS

...so far you are doing awesome! No worries about the Ohio State University as I am sure I will fare the same as you did. I just want UF and IU-B to get back to us soon! These cats are taking FOREVER!!! CONGRATS SO FAR AND GOOD LUCK WITH THE REST!! KEEP ME INFORMED!

Thanks

Thanks for the congrats. I'm sure you'll get a similar package from MSU as we have very similar numbers. I'll keep an eye on your profile to see what you end up with. Good Luck!

I was looking over your profile and I have to say, you seem like a pretty smug guy. I'm surprised that any law school would accept you.

Congrats

On MSU. I see you got the same scholarship package as I did. Leaning towards attending anywhere yet?

Thanks
Tuesday, January 29 2008 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the support, I wish I was that confident about the applications I sent out. Good luck with the rest of your applications, I'm sure you'll be adding a few more acceptances to that list soon enough.

I hear ya

I'm in the same spot as you. I got a nice offer from Hofstra, but I gotta maintain a 3.25 and I kinda dig the Big 10 factor of MSU. I holding out for Wisconsin. I'm a resident so I like my chances despite my LSAT. Keep in touch as your cycle wraps up. Best of luck on the remaining apps.

UF

I agree! I called and was very disappointed to find out my application is on hold. I'm not entirely sure what to think of that or what to do about it. Hopefully we will hear some good news in March.

I was wondering if you had any advice or impressions of UT. Or any tips. Or how your experience was. My goal is to get into Tenn. Thanks
