Extra Curricular Information

None really besides having a son; I've worked with children with autism for the last 3 years. I have no law related or volunteer experience besides being in trouble with the law a little when I was younger. My GPA is truly a little lower than what is posted, but the degree GPA is accurate. I had great letters of recommendation - 3 from various profs, 1 who I'm working on a dormant commerce clause thesis with, 2 from older friends that were also coaches/employers. I had a terrible interview at Northwestern - the lady sucked and was entirely negative - I only applied there afterwards because it only cost $12.

Additional info & updates

2/28 - Received rejection from Chicago, checked my email to make sure UMich got my address change, and a lady from the admissions office wrote back telling me that they had already sent out an acceptance packet on 2/20...so it should be here any day!

3/1 - Georgetown mailed out a letter...I'm expecting a waitlist, but at this point I'd consider that a denial...not gonna wait around for them.

3/8 - Status change email from UVA; letter from GULC is still not here

3/9 - Called Boalt, after pressuring the secretary, found out that I was rejected. That was expected though...applied mostly because of the fee waiver.

Still no letter from Georgetown...after learning early from Boalt, I'm tempted to call UVA. I'd like to know I'm in so maybe I can start to bargain for a tiny chunk of $$ with Michigan.

3/8 - Decision made at Virginia...From what I've read, if I get the call I'm in, if not, I'm out.

3/10 - Waitlisted at Georgetown. Saw it coming though, so I was just glad to finally get the letter.

3/11 - Rejected at Virginia. It looks like it's a good thing Michigan let me in...they might be the only one.

3/18 - I'm disappointed in myself for panicking and applying to Cornell on their app deadline. First they denied me a fee waiver, then rejected me the day before I was to withdraw my application.

We've been looking at houses in and around Ann Arbor, so unless I get a shocker (ouch!) from Harvard, we're headed back to the snow. I'm pretty sure that I would've gotten a call from Harvard already had I been accepted, but it can't hurt to put off the deposit at U of M until early April just in case.

Nope...no deferral. I had decided not to apply there, then in a last minute fit sent it overnight for EA, just in case. It would've been on the bottom of my list anyway because I hear mixed reviews of the area that it's in.

I think I might have already talked to you from LSD...you were considering U of Minn.? If not, shoot me an email.

Georgetown is my first choice too... any thoughts on what deferral chances are? All this waiting for a decision is frustrating - good luck to you.

Northwestern

I had a horrible interview with NW too... which is very odd, because I normally love interviews. The person I talked to was also negative, and kept asking seemingly scripted questions about my full-time work experience, even after I had made it explicitly clear that I do not have any (senior in college...). I was unimpressed, but also applied for the 12 dollar reason. :) Part of me wonders why they given out fee waivers to so many people with our LSAT score, only to later reject almost all of them? I guess we shall see! Good luck and congrats on your success thus far!
