Additional info & updates

I am American by birth -- I finished my BA in Britain after leaving a private university in the states.

Scholarship data at $/annum.

December 2006 -- I received an offer to Charlotte without application. I am not currently looking at non-ABA schools and so I have withdrawn.

January 2007 -- Waitlisted at Temple. I was expecting a rejection, so I'll do my best to send the letter of intent along and hope that my #1 choice pulls through against the odds.

February 2007 -- Waitlisted at PSU. Accepted at Suffolk. The choice of Suffolk and Vermont is a relief. I'm sure NESL is a fine school, but the realities of going to the lesser-ranked school in a crowded legal community such as Boston might be difficult. I have withdrawn.

March 2007 -- Unexpectedly given an admit from the waitlist at Penn State. Time to think.

After some consideration I've decided (again) on VLS. PSU-Dickinson is ranked marginally better overall, but there are questions of where I see myself fitting in and enjoying life. In the end, of course, there is no 100% 'correct' decision and I'm just left with my own impressions and thoughts.

UConn is my first choice, then Northeastern. VLS, Quinnipiac, and Maine are basically at a tie for third - if I don't get into either of the first two, it will likely come down to the cost of attending. Congrats on Vermont!

no worries

Like yourself I am very happy to have a few excellent backups in place. I am still really hoping for UConn, but I think it is unlikely. Maybe you will still get into Temple...people do get in off of the wait list, so stay optimistic!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't think I can stand living in Carlisle for a year before the building is finished at Main. Good luck with your application though, because Main campus is a nice place.

Hey - I'm in at Vermont too. Are you looking at Environmental? How did they tell you about the $$? Congrats!

I think its a great choice. Although it is a tad isolated, the environment is supportive and the campus beautiful. Hopefully I'll get off that waitlist... I would recommend investing in a good pair of snowshoes however.

Hey, congrats! That's awesome. I've got to ask, did you submit any additional material, or did they just make a decision on you as you were when they waitlisted you? Excellent development and good luck!

How did you get off the waitlist at PSU? Did you speak to anyone, send any material in or visit? Thanks.

Congrats!

I've been up to Vermont a few times this past month to check out the apartment situation. Since you can't be up there till Aug, feel free to email me if you have any questions about South Royalton's housing offerings.
