Additional info & updates

I am kind of late in the game making an LSN profile. So far...
- I applied to Duke PT and they put a hold on my app until fall grades come out
- Accepted at USD via snail mail

As of 12/5, I'm "in review" at Southwestern.

12/11 Loyola's decision is in the mail.
- Also just checked my status checker at Cardozo and it says "Complete and Under Review." I am pretty sure it just said Complete before...hopefully that means movement is happening :)

12/16 Loyola letter came. In with $84k! :)

12/17 In Review at USC.

12/18 Southwestern decision has been mailed.

12/22 In at Southwestern :) No aid info yet.

12/24 Oh, as of 12/14 I'm in review at Cal Western. I hadn't checked in ages because it said they wouldn't start the process until January. Nice surprise :)

12/28 I just got a second "complete" email from GW. The first one only said my file was complete (12/3), but this one said my file was complete and the review process was beginning. So I guess that counts as "in review."

1/7 In at Pepperdine with renewable $40,000. I swear I checked the status a day or two ago and it was still "Complete 11/24". Yesterday I got an invite to their WaveNet thing, so that might indicate acceptance, FYI.

1/8 Sent in my Rothman essay. Still In Review at USC...

1/10 In at UCLA! :) via call.

1/15 In at Georgetown :)

1/19 USC changed my "In Review" date from 12/17 to today...

1/23 This week, I got a full tuition scholarship at Southwestern and got my acceptance to Cal Western. Still in review at USC!
- Edit: offered a scholly at USD in today's mail. :)

1/26 Got a call from Cardozo--in with full tuition! Woohoo!

1/27 Huge pile of mail today, most of which was an unusual amount of come-ons from credit card companies. But, I got an acceptance packet from TJSL, and a Kennedy Scholarship at Cal Western! That is a scholarship I've coveted since the early days of researching schools... I am muy pleased. :)

2/2 Updates from the last few days:
- Got a call from UVa yesterday, in with $25k/year! :)
- Letter from GW last week. That one was $30k/year plus one year of free housing. Nice!

2/15 Waitlisted at Duke after they saw my fall grades. Eh.

2/22 Waitlisted at USC :( really bummed on that one.

3/30 Withdrew from six schools. Bittersweet!

4/5 Submitted my SIR at UCLA. Now I'm working on withdrawing everywhere else. Hurrah!

I think you should be good...you have an advantage in the sense that the UCs are def. big feeder schools. Enjoy Westwood!

UCLA!! My dream school nice round of apps, wish I had the option to go there, good luck!

Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

Ohh. Where are you thinking of going as of now? UCLA, or another school with money?

Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

What are your plans for USC? (And good luck with USC!)

Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

Actually, you don't have to answer that haha; I'm paranoid about possible adcomms looking on LSN :(

Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

"UCLA is just so cold! :(" Please clarify!

Friday, October 16 2009 at 08:00 PM

If you get some money from USC or if you get into UVA, you could try to negotiate with UCLA! Won't hurt to try haha

Why does everyone feel the need to criticize my law school choices? Maybe you are unaware of the circumstances in my life which are directing my decision. And maybe not everyone chooses her law school by automatically taking the highest USNWR rank that accepts her. Can no one appreciate the complexity of this decision?? Am I the only one who is thinking about more than just numbers/rank/money?

Congrats on UCLA and your other great choices!

Hey!

I am 99% sure about UCLA, even though I am still waiting to hear from USC. In fact, I already sent in my seat deposit :) Did you go (or are you going) to any of the admitted students days at UCLA? I went to the one in March and thought it was great. Love that school! I will be interested to see what your final decision is!

Thursday, February 18 2010 at 07:00 PM

Awesome, congrats!! Yay UCLA! Still deciding about whether I will go to the April ASD, as I think they have some different things from the March one. Are you a CA resident or coming in from afar?
