Additional info & updates

I applied to a bunch more, but I'm too lazy to list. I will post as I get responses (the rest are all pending so far).

*** Scholarship is per year ***

1/11/07 Finished Yale app. Probably no chance, but I didn't think I had a chance at Northwestern either, so might as well try.

1/23/07 Decision from Georgetown according to their status check, but I have to wait until it comes in the mail to know the decision. Frustrating system. I don't know why they can't just tell you on the status site if you are in or out.

1/24/2007 Full ride from Baylor, just estimated/year amount.

Free first-year books from McGeorge. Acceptance said that my app has been submitted to scholarship committee and I will find out at a later date if I have been awarded anything

Still waiting for the GTown decision to arrive in the mail. You would think that they could just e-mail people in this day and age. It would save paper.

1/26/07 In at Hastings via status check web-page

1/27/07 The GTown acceptance came yesterday. It was in a small little envelope. They trick you into thinking it is a rejection. Tough decision now.

1/27/07 In at Temple.

1/29/07 In at U San Diego. Ok, so I obviously applied to way too many schools. But I honestly did not expect to have such luck with my split. Plus I wasn't sure what would count more, the high LSAT, or the low GPA.

01/31/07 Just got email from Berkeley. Not sure exactly what it means, but I think it amounts to deferral. Basically it passed initial review, but no decision as of yet and it requires further review. Anyone else have similar experience? Does this equate to deferral, or is this Berkeley's normal process?

02/06/07 In at Cardozo by phone call.

02/07/07 In at DePaul by phone. In at UC Davis by status checker.

02/08/07 Indiana by e-mail

02/09/07 waitlisted at Duke by e-mail :( Doubt my chances are good, how many people would actually reject Duke. Deferred at U Minn

2/27/07 UMinn emailed me to kindly tell me that I'm still deferred. Not sure the point of them doing that.

3/1/07 - Ah, my first rejection. Well, who better to be rejected by than Stanford.

it doesn't look like they've been rejecting people this month, so I think you are golden.

I did not apply to NU. I don't have any good reason, either. I thought about applying for a looong time, but ultimately decided that there are other schools I'd rather go to (like Penn). I heard from Penn really early, too, thus erasing any incentive to apply to NU. However, the campus is beautiful and the program is extremely well-reputed. They also seem to be quite generous with the scholarship $$. Congratulations and good luck with the rest!!

Thanks!

Think I read the sequel once when I was much younger but don't remember it too well, don't think I was nuts about it. Have read the original countless times though :) Congrats on all the good news so far, always great to see a similar splitter dominating! Here's hoping it continues for both of us!

Duke

I never really considered Georgetown b/c of its size and general atmosphere/govt orientation. It was really between Duke and Cornell and despite the $$$ at Cornell I was in love with Duke and knew it was the right choice. I got a revised scholarship from them after contacting them and explaining the situation. HTH, Cheers and good luck!
