Additional info & updates

-12/15 Deferred at CLS, given the competition I suppose I should be happy, but usually deferrals result in rejection only later on in the cycle. Sigh.

-12/17 WOKE UP TO A CORNELL ACCEPTANCE! What a great Christmas present!

-1/6 In at Fordham via status checker. I'm happy and all but I really want them to reimburse my application fee already.

-1/13 IN AT MICHIGAN! A large package came in the mail today with a lot of information and a Michigan flash drive with a bunch of stuff about the school on it! Also, the dean hand wrote a letter about one of their exchange programs and something in my application! Wow, I officially cracked the T10! I still can't believe it!!!

-1/27 Rejected by Gtown via kind of terse e-mail. Whatevs, I'm in at two better schools.

-1/28 Ding! Ouch Berkeley...ouch. I thought we could have been good together. Oh well, you can't win them all. Let's hope that all of the bad news is done now and that after this there shall be no more.

-3/28 Sorry for the long delay! Rejected by Penn and Chicago

-Accepted by UVA, DUKE, and UCLA. Withdrew from Duke

-Good money at Michigan!!! That pretty much makes it a done deal! Just waiting on the CLS deferral and the HLS hold. NYU and Northwestern I don't know what is up...

-UCLA named scholarship by e-mail from the Simon fund! 28,500 per year.

-4/2 Came home to a $30,000 a year scholarship guaranteed for 3 years at Cornell for a total of $90,000! I was really all set of Michigan but this gave me a slight pause.

-4/8 Waitlisted at NYU. High cost of living and low chance of scholarship = me withdrawing. Not too torn up about it.

-4/15 Sent official withdraw letters to UCLA, Fordham, and Cornell. I feel really bad about UCLA and Cornell because of the scholarship money and the super kind admissions staff. Now I'm still waiting on essentially my top two choices from the very beginning of the cycle. Isn't that always the way it goes. Oh well, I'm definitely moving on. I have found an apartment in Ann Arbor and am sending my seat deposit this week! Maybe something crazy will happen in the next few weeks but I feel like I'll end up where I'm supposed to.

-4/16 WL'd at Harvard. I'm riding it out for sure, but my odds are SOOOOOOOOOOO slim. What a dream come true that would be though.

-4/21 CLS reserve. No surprise there.

-4/30 NULS Waitlist. Since I didn't fill out the hold form, and withdrew I'm really surprised by this letter...Anyway sent my deposit off to Michigan!!! GO BLUE! :):):):):):):)

Your LSN is woefully out of date! UCLA? UVA? DUKE? :)

I went to Michigan's ASW and loved it, so I think I'm gonna end up there! Hope to see you there if Harvard or Columbia don't come through :)

Congrats on Michigan!

Was $75k their first offer or did you negotiate higher?

Wednesday, December 30 2009 at 07:00 PM

So they do negotiate...hmm. Oh well, too late now. Yes, I'll be off to AA in the fall. Letting go of UCLA was tough with their $$$ offer but I loved my visit to Mich. See you there!

I'll probably be in the Lawyer's Club just for the convenience and socializing. Gonna miss my kitchen though! How about you?
