Additional info & updates

- Accepted to University of Arkansas

-I am waiting to hear back from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Though the school is not ranked, they have an excellent J.D/Masters of Public Health dual degree program with UAMS. I am very interested in specializing in Health Policy and Management.

-Scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas in the amount of 6,000$ for the first year, with the possibility of renewal for the next two years if I remained in the top 20%.

12/31/2009

I finally heard from UALR. I am accepted. I am hoping a scholarship offer will be in the mail.

1/2/2010

Scholarship offer from UALR in the amount of 21,000$! I'm excited. Maybe I can graduate with little debt after all.

1/5/2010

My application to Saint Louis is complete. I am certain I'll be going to UALR/UAMS, but it doesn't hurt to see what Saint Louis offers. Without substantial scholarship money, there would be no way I could afford Saint Louis.

1/25/2010

I am accepted to Saint Louis, and my file is being considered for a scholarship offer. We'll see.

Congratulations on UALR! It is also my first choice because of it's location near UAMS. My husband has applied for med school there. Hope to see you in August!

By the way, did you receive your scholarship offer in the mail or via email?

No, I do not know what area I want to specialize in. I do see myself working in a non-profit or university setting, however. What about you?

Bowen
Monday, January 04 2010 at 07:00 PM

I received a scholarship offer from Bowen today, and I was hoping you could answer a question for me. The way it is worded, I can't tell if it is per year, or divided among the three years of law school. Any insight?

I am fairly certain I want to pursue a concurrent degree while at UALR...I'm looking into all of them. Care to share any insight on the MPH?

Yes, that's the plan :) I haven't officially accepted because I am trying to negotiate my scholarship offer. We've been in contact about it since January and they keep telling me to check back in a few weeks to see if additional scholarship funds are available...I'm hoping!

I have emailed a couple of times with the director of the program, but she took a couple of days to respond. I received a scholarship increase today so I have officially accepted! It feels nice.

April 16

Received an email about Bowen's Admitted Students Day. It is Friday, April 16 from 12:30 to 5:00 PM. Do you think you will attend? I am undecided...not sure if I want to take a day off work for it.
