Additional info & updates

I'm quite horrible at multiple choice exams and that can explain the 156 I received on the LSAT. Miami is my top choice so hopefully they like me enough to admit me.

12/17/10
Killing time before my six hour tax final, I decided to log into the UM website and to my surprise I saw a congratulations message. It's nice getting my first acceptance especially when it's from my top choice.

12/18/10
Today I realized that Mississippi College is a different law school from the one at the University of Mississippi. Even though I won't be attending Mississippi College, I still hope the admission council doesn't think I'm a complete idiot for mixing up schools.

1/9/11
Checked my status on Kentucky's website. Even though it is the 9th, it says "Current Status Date: 1/10/2011" and "Current Status: File Pending for Decision." I don't know how I should interpret this. Will a decision be made tomorrow?

1/9/11
Had a fee waiver and time to kill, so I went ahead and applied to Georgia State. Also sent an email to University of Mississippi asking for a fee waiver.

1/9/11
After receiving the fee waiver code I requested earlier today, I submitted my application to University of Mississippi.

1/10/11
Applied to UF. Having to mail the application fee is bs. Stuff like this is why I sometimes hate UF.

1/10/11
"Decision letter mailed" at Kentucky. Looks like my first rejection since they give acceptances via email.

1/11/11
LSU wouldn't give me a fee waiver without having to do some work so I won't be applying there. I won't be submitting anymore apps to any other school either. I think 10 is enough. Now I'll just wait for the acceptances and rejections to roll in.

1/13/11
Was checking my current status at all my schools and saw that I had been accepted by Mississippi College. They didn't send me an email or anything in the mail. Since the decision date was today, maybe I'll get something in a few days.

1/21/11
Just got back from a cruise and found some mail waiting for me. I got the rejection letter from Kentucky that I knew was coming. Mississippi College sent two acceptance letters.

1/24/11
Received letter from Mississippi College offering $12,000 a year.

1/28/11
Lewis and Clark sent me a rejection email yesterday. Thought I would get an acceptance.

2/3/11
Email from Georgia State said that they would review me application a second time by April 30th. It's hard to stay optimistic with these recent decisions but atleast I still have Miami.

2/4/11
Letter from Colorado asking if I want to be put on waitlist.

2/5/11
Acceptance packet from Pacific. Offered me dean's scholarship award which offers $10,000 a year and free textbooks for the first year.

2/7/11
I really hate UF right now. I've decided not to complete my app. UF is the only school that wants the official paperwork relating to the speeding ticket I earned over 3 years ago. If I had murder charges against me then I would understand, but a speeding ticket? Really? I love UF but I hate how the administration is full of itself. Rant over...

2/15/11
Got a phone call from Tennessee telling me that I was accepted. Also told me to expect a letter in the mail. Now I just have Mississippi left.

2/18/11
Received congratulations letter from Tennessee in the mail. Surprise to see a scholarship offer of $10,000 a year included with it. I wonder if I am considered a URM there and that is why I got the scholarship. Mississippi?...anything?...how long are you going to take?...

2/27/11
Checked my status at Mississippi and it says "Committee Review" as of 2/21/11. Hopefully I get an answer soon.

3/7/11
As of today, I'm officially done with the law school application process!!! Mississippi sent me a acceptance package in the mail. Now I have to decide if there is any reason to not attend Miami and go to another school.

yeah, I was held at Miami yesterday. I bit bummed, but I've heard a hold is better than an outright WL. Anyways, good luck to you as well!

Wow very similar! I understand what you are saying about the 156, I just don't get the LSAT haha. Congrats on Miami!

Looks like we share similar numbers and schools. Congrats on Miami, will that be your choice if the other schools don't pony up a good bit of scholly money? Good luck on your remaining schools.

I live in Atlanta, it is a fantastic city. Especially, if you are a single guy the single girl to guy ratio is insane! So, Gainesville is a really collegey/fratty town? That's kind of a turn off, but I do love the school. I understand your need for a change, before I moved to Atlanta I was in a college town and couldn't wait to get out after getting my grad degree. I should have applied to Miami, the tuition price scared me off a bit, but what a great place to live!
