--> Took the test in December of '09, but didn't do so hot. I got into zero, I repeat zero, schools for the '09-'10 campaign. Took the LSAT much more seriously this time and, as a result, did much better on the test (8-10 pt. increase). However, after about 7-8 decisions so far this cycle, I'm convinced that my first score is weighing me down heavily.

Decisions:

Nov. 18 -> DENIED: U of Illinois (e-mail)
Nov. 23 -> DENIED: DePaul (e-mail)
Dec. 13 -> DENIED: George Mason (e-mail)
Dec. 13 -> ACCEPTED: St. Mary's (snail mail)
Dec. 14 -> WAITLISTED: U. of Miami (e-mail/status checker)
Dec. 14 -> WAITLISTED: Hofstra (status checker)
Dec. 21 -> DENIED: Stetson (e-mail)
Jan. 3 -> DENIED: Loyola-CHI (status checker/snail mail)
Jan. 4 -> ACCEPTED: St. Louis U. (status checker/e-mail)
Jan. 14 -> DENIED: Penn St. (e-mail)
Jan. 20 -> DENIED: U of H (status checker)
Jan. 31 -> WAITLISTED: TTU (status checker)
Feb. 7 -> WAITLISTED: LSU (status checker/e-mail)
Feb. 15 -> DENIED: Georgia St. (status checker/e-mail)
Feb. 25 -> ACCEPTED: South Texas (status checker)
Feb. 25 -> DENIED: Pacific (status checker/snail mail)
Mar. 1 -> DENIED: Temple (status checker)
Apr. 8 -> ACCEPTED OFF WL: TTU (e-mail)
Apr. 25 -> ACCEPTED: IU-Indy (e-mail)

Additional info & updates

*Scholarship money is over 3 years total*

--> (July '10) - Time to re-do this whole process over again...I'm registered to take this thing for the 2nd time in October.

--> (August '10) - Taking a course for LSAT prep and am scoring higher than I was before I took the LSAT in December. It's nice knowing that I can do better on this test if I put in the time.

--> (Sept. 1) - So, I have about one more full month of studying before I take my 2nd LSAT. Everything seems to be on track. Also, just kind of updating my school list as the days continue to pass hoping for fee waivers! I plan on applying to plenty of schools...

--> (Sept. 8) - The fee waivers keep rolling in. I've gotten 4 in the last week. I WANT MORE! Also, the studying seems to be going smoothly. Have seen an even bigger jump in my scoring over the last 3 weeks.

--> (Sept. 15) - Since taking my diagnostic test in my LSAT course up until now, I've upped my score by 10 points. That's not bad, but I want it closer to 20 points. I still have over 3 weeks to study balls-to-the-wall, so I know it's possible.

--> (Sept. 27) - Less than 2 weeks until I take the LSAT. I'm not nervous. I'm just ready to get this damn thing over with!

--> (Oct. 29) - Well how about that? Not bad at all! Nice, new shiny LSAT score :)

--> (Oct. 30) - Sent off Illinois app. It's a longshot, but what the heck...
- TTU, Pacific, DePaul sent off as well

--> (Nov. 1) - Stetson, Loyola-Chicago sent off

--> (Nov. 2) - Penn St. sent off

--> (Nov. 3) - IU-Indy sent off

--> (Nov. 4) - LSU sent off. Slowly but surely getting all of my apps. done!

--> (Nov. 5) - I applied to George Mason today. Another longshot, but it's a heck of a school and one I would love to attend...plus, it was only $12.

--> (Nov. 8) - Hofstra sent off

--> (Nov. 10) - St. Louis U. sent off...almost done with all of my apps.!

--> (Nov. 11) - U of H, St. Mary's & South Texas sent...

--> (Nov. 16) - Under Review @ U of I, Penn St. & DePaul

--> (Nov. 17) - Under Review @ TTU

--> (Nov. 18) - *U of I Decision*
- Applied to Georgia St.

--> (Nov. 23) - *DePaul Decision*

--> (Nov. 29) - Under Review @ St. Louis
- U. Miami sent off

--> (Dec. 3) - Seriously, does Hofstra even know that I exist?
EDIT: Ironically, after about a month of waiting, I got my status checker the day I decided to voice my frustration, lol

--> (Dec. 6) - Under Review @ Hofstra

--> (Dec. 7) - Under Review @ U of H

--> (Dec. 9) - Under Review @ St. Mary's
- Finally complete everywhere. Man, this process of waiting for decisions is beyond torturous.

--> (Dec. 10) - *St. Mary's Decision* - Um, so I go UR yesterday, and they already have a decision that I will receive via snail mail? Wow.
EDIT: Letter addressed 12/13

--> (Dec. 13) - *George Mason Decision*

--> (Dec. 14) - *U. of Miami, Hofstra Decisions*
- Uh-oh...am I going to turn into the Waitlist King?
- Temple sent off
- Miami LOCI already sent off

--> (Dec. 16) - Sent off Hofstra LOCI today

--> (Dec. 21) - *Stetson Decision*
- Shocked that I didn't get a waitlist at the very least...

--> (Jan. 3) - *Loyola Decision* - updated by status checker that a decision has been made, yet have to wait via snail mail. This sucks!
- Looks like it's going to be a WL/reject as most people have ended up getting an e-mail (like StLU) saying they were in by now.
EDIT: Yep, a rejection. 2 years in a row...the bitterness towards this school lives on!

--> (Jan. 4) - *St. Louis Decision* - Also updated by status checker that a decision has been made and a letter has been sent. Why do schools do this?

--> (Jan. 6) - St. Louis Status Checker now has an alternate e-mail address for me with an slu.edu at the end...I hope this means I'm in!
EDIT: In. Acceptance e-mail with decision letter attached. Nice.
- Under Review @ GSU

--> (Jan. 7) - My Temple Status Checker just updated to complete for the 2nd time. Perhaps this is me going Under Review?

--> (Jan. 11) - So after all of this time, LSU finally decides to send me a status checker. I'm now Under Review there. Weird.
- Um...weirdest status ever via TTU. It reads, "Movin' right along...File In Review." What the hell!?

--> (Jan. 14) - *Penn St. Decision*
- Figured I might have an outside shot here, but yet another ding. Starting to grow tired of getting rejected at most of the schools I applied to, but after last cycle, I'm used to it.

--> (Jan. 18) - Finally got the Hofstra WL letter in the mail. They sent it off a month ago.

--> (Jan. 20) - *U of H Decision*
- Crushed. Really wanted Houston, but alas, it was not meant to be. Bad cycle #2 is now official.

--> (Jan. 27) - Tech status checker just updated to, "File In Review. Patience is a Virtue." Honestly, these little messages were sorta funny at first, but now it's just getting ridiculous...

--> (Jan. 31) - *TTU Decision*
- Unreal. Cannot believe I just got WL here...

--> (Feb. 5) - 6 schools to hear from officially, not including the schools that WL'ed me. Ready for this process to be over, but it's been damn slow here lately.

--> (Feb. 7) - *LSU Decision*
- Status Checker says a decision has been made and to check my e-mail. Damn, I hate having to wait for a decision...
EDIT: Received the WL e-mail. The disappointing cycle ensues.

--> (Feb. 10) - Started drafting my TTU & LSU LOCI's today. Will send them off as soon as possible.

--> (Feb. 15) - TTU LOCI sent off

--> (Feb. 16) - *Georgia St. Decision*
- Pretty much as expected, dinged here. Eh, whatever.

--> (Feb. 17) - LSU LOCI sent off

--> (Feb. 23) - My UM Account no longer has the hold letter as my admissions decision. Hopefully this means they are re-reviewing my application...

--> (Feb. 25) - *South Texas, Pacific Decisions*
- Pumped about South TX. Another cheap, affordable in-state option that should throw me some decent scholly money.
- DR @ Pacific; 5-7 days to wait for a letter via snail mail. Ugh!
-EDIT: Out at Pacific. Seriously? Thought I had a good shot; oh well, screw em'...
- Withdrew from Hofstra.

--> (Feb. 28) - 2 more decisions to go and then I'm done...

--> (Mar. 1) - *Temple Decision*
- Knew it was a longshot, but still had a small glimmer of hope. Alas, it was not meant to be.

--> (Mar. 16) - Looking more and more like STCL is the school I will be attending...

--> (Mar. 21) - Under Review @ IU-Indy. Gee, thanks guys. It only took you over 4 months. Probably just going to withdraw.

--> (Mar. 28) - St. Louis U. decided to throw me a little bit of money; 15k spread over 6 semesters. Not bad, but I'm not too sure if that is enough to entice me to go out of state.

--> (Apr. 8) - And the ole' alma mater comes through! Accepted off of the WL @ Tech. Decisions, decisions.
- Probable that I will withdraw from St. Louis U. on Monday. Outside of an LSU acceptance off of the WL, it looks like it will come down to STCL or TTU.

--> (Apr. 11) - Withdrew from St. Louis U.

--> (Apr. 25) - Accepted to IU-Indy today. Barring some amazing scholly $, there is probably a 99.9% chance I do not attend, but still nice to know that they let me in. And, I FINALLY cracked the Top 100.

--> (Apr. 27) - Got an e-mail from Tech awarding me a $5,000 scholarship per year contingent upon me staying in the top 50% of my class. The decision process has not become any easier...

--> (May 12) - My 'Final Four' has been set for about a week or two, but within the next 4-5 days, I need to narrow it down to a final 2 (I'm going to stay on the LSU WL until they accept/reject me).

--> (June 9) - Withdrew from Tech about a week or so ago. Looks like it's probably going to be South Texas for me in the fall barring a WL acceptance.

--> (June 19) - Officially heading to STCL in the fall. Cycle complete.

Thank you! I saw that you sent off a letter of continued interest to WMCL - I did that too and I honestly think that helped! Making sure they know how much you want to go there can't hurt. I hope you get in - good luck!!!

We are pretty similar on numbers, residency/demographics and school choice. I'll be interested to see where we end up.

Hofstra
Monday, October 18 2010 at 08:00 PM

Just wanted to let you know that I got my Status Checker from Hofstra last night so you should be getting yours soon as well. It was a full month after applying.

Thanks!

Wednesday, November 17 2010 at 07:00 PM

Definitely a load off to be going to what was my top choice.....looks like you have some exciting options on the table....good luck with the rest of your cycle

Keep your chin up.
Monday, February 22 2010 at 07:00 PM

It kind of sucks to have your first three be dings, but you have heard back from three tough schools. I know acceptances are incoming! I know St. Mary's is coming with an acceptance and money.

To the 2 anonymous posters...
Saturday, February 13 2010 at 07:00 PM

I appreciate the insight from both of you, however, I would appreciate it even more if the bantering b/w you 2 would exit my page. Thank you.

Congrats
Sunday, June 27 2010 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the first acceptance. I'm sure it will be the first of many.

Congrats
Thursday, December 02 2010 at 07:00 PM

Good luck with your other schools. I'm still waiting for my first acceptance. Hopefully it's from Miami.

Tech
Monday, February 22 2010 at 07:00 PM

FYI I got waitlisted at Tech today, so check your status checker!

Congrats
Friday, January 29 2010 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your first acceptance! I know it feels to have the first one under your belt.

Re: just curious
Thursday, December 16 2010 at 07:00 PM

Haha. Nah, I didn't apply to Miami because I don't really want to practice in south Florida. I only applied to fiu because it is cheap, and I could possibly transfer out. Though, you are right, I HATE Miami, lol.

Arkansas fayettville
Thursday, December 16 2010 at 07:00 PM

By the way, you might have some luck at Arkansas, not a bad school, and it doesn't take much to apply, and the turn around is real quick. I didn't even have to submit a ps. They say that they might request additional docs. beyond the app, but all they did was send me scholarship offers. Your gpa is better than mine, it will probably make up for your slightly lower LSAT. Just a heads up.

Good Luck
Sunday, January 16 2011 at 07:00 PM

Hey man, thanks for the support! Good luck on the rest of your cycle.

TT decision
Friday, January 14 2011 at 07:00 PM

I'm still waiting on a decision from Tech. Our numbers are about equal, so I'll be curious to see if I get wait listed too. Best of luck to you getting off that list, and with your other schools

GL
Monday, February 21 2011 at 07:00 PM

Good luck to you. We have similar numbers and are now waitlist buddies at LSU. Sending out my LOCI tomorrow, let's hope for the best!

Thank you!
Monday, January 10 2011 at 07:00 PM

Good luck with the rest of your cycle!

Congrats
Friday, February 25 2011 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on South Texas! I was recently admitted there too. Did they make any mention of scholarship money to you? Best of luck on the lists at LSU and TTU. Our numbers are basically identical, so I feel like I'll be in the same boat with you shortly on the waitlists.

Friday, February 25 2011 at 07:00 PM

yes, it truly is bad timing. And in terms of Tech, I feel like you will have no problem getting in as long as your LOCI shows a real particular interest in the school.(at least that's my theory if I have to write one)

Thanks!
Thursday, December 16 2010 at 07:00 PM

Good luck to you on the rest of your cycle. I hope you get in where you want.

Big thanks!!
Wednesday, February 02 2011 at 07:00 PM

I'm super excited about UT!! So who knows... I may be joining you in Texas after all!! Best of luck on the rest of your cycle. The end is near. PHEW! :)

STCL?
Monday, October 20 2008 at 08:00 PM

So, are you leaning towards/committed to STCL?

To Ann & hey there
Saturday, February 13 2010 at 07:00 PM

I was actually notified by e-mail that stated I had been accepted and that a letter in the mail would soon follow. Also, I wrote an LOCI about a week and a half after I was WL'ed just expressing how much I loved Tech (I actually did my UG there; don't know how much that played a roll in their decision to let me in) and that I would definitely like to attend there if accepted. I guess it worked...

Friday, May 08 2009 at 08:00 PM

Yes I am definitely retaking and reapplying in the Fall. I have all summer to prep, and a couple easy A credits to complete, so if things go as planned I'll be applying with a much higher LSAT and partially higher GPA.

Thanks and Congrats!
Monday, October 20 2008 at 08:00 PM

Thanks so much! I'm constantly updating, so keep reading! And I see you got in off the WL at Tech...congrats! You gonna stay in Lubbock, then?

Sunday, November 21 2010 at 07:00 PM

Which school will you attend and why?

STCL
Monday, October 20 2008 at 08:00 PM

Congrats on the STCL decision! Doesn't it feel good knowing where you're gonna go? Good luck in 1L!
