I was also surprised to see we had 6 schools in common... and I actually was thinking about applying to a few of the others that you did but felt like my LSAT was too low. That's awesome that you are in at GW. I'm sure I'd also be happy there. If I got into NU, I'd definitely go both because it's a fabulous school and because my sister and friends are all out here in Chicago. However, I don't expect to get in and could probably be happy at any of them... So we shall see. Good luck and keep me posted on your plans!
Yeah, I think it is yield protection. I mean, I wasn't going to attend. I just applied late and picked it as a safety.
Hey there :) Thanks for the post. I am bummed about ND because I thought I'd get waitlisted but not out right rejected. It's just frustrating because I would go there in a second, and I feel like a lot of the people that have been accepted with 170s will withdraw their apps after getting into an even better school... Being rejected doesn't even allow me a shot at one of those spots! Anyway, I hope you are right, and I hope they are just being harsher to everyone this year. At least then I don't feel so singled out. Thanks for the congrats on MN. That is exciting since it's a great school. My only hesitation is that I really care about being in Chicago. My twin sister moved out here after college to be with me, and I'd really be bummed to have to leave her. Additionally, almost all of my friends from Northwestern stayed out here after graduating, and it would be sad to leave them. I think you have an amazing shot at NU. With all of that work experience and your high LSAT, you really are in a fabulous position. Any advice for anything I can do to even just help myself get waitlisted? I know I only have one year of work experience and I realize my LSAT is way below their averages, but I would like to know that I at least did everything I could. One person suggested to me that I send them a letter of continued interest saying I'd go there if accepted (which I obviously would in a heartbeat even despite the thought of being in debt $120,000...). Any thoughts on this or advice of what to say? Have you sent a letter like that anywhere? Anyway, sorry this is so long! Good luck with the rest of your schools!
I heard a rumor that if you have not been accepted at UVA by now, you are not going to be, just to warn you. I am wondering if the same isn't true for me at G'town and GW. Anyway, I wanted you to know that my letter did indicate that I was on the priority resident list. It said so right in the letter. I wish you luck. Try not to bother the mail man too much!
we both have a lot and actually 3 in common. rediculous isnt it? i mean...our chances have to be pretty good to get off at least ONE of these don't you think? Good luck and keep me posted on any news you hear...
RE: Girlinva's comment about the UVA waitlist - that is SO weird, I JUST heard that today from a 3L who works as a reader :-( Keeping my fingers cross for us WLs though!!
How did BC inform you that you had been taken off the waitlist? Did they call you?
I applied to a bunch of the same schools as you... What's your top choice?
