Awesome Personal Statement and Recommendations

Pretty smart, came in to college with dual credit courses that added up to a 2.8 GPA (I did not treat high school like I did college... in high school graduated with a 3.4), BUT in college alone I got pretty serious about work and I knew I had to make up for that ugly GPA i received from high school sooo I ended up with a Degree GPA of a 3.9, which I gained while at the university only in my 2 and a half years there.

Graduated high school '09
College '11

Now I am in an MBA program been here for about a year- 3.5 GPA

LSAT score is obviously not my best suit.. but even though I am pretty sure I could do better, I believe my time is now for law school and I have to roll with this feeling.

Additional info & updates

Calls:

*Received a call from Southern Illinois on Wednesday 3/13. Accepted

*Received a call from Northeastern Univ in Boston, MA 3/15. Accepted
*3/20 Received award packet by mail, Academic Scholarship of $30,000 (which in reality is nothing compared to their tuition) and I did fill out the FAFSA last week so when that comes in hopefully I'll have some need based grants.

*3/20 Received call from Ohio Northern, I have been accepted and given $32,000k per year in scholarships merit based and grant

Emails:

Mercer- 3/13 Accepted

Vermont Law- 3/14 Accepted- $90,000... very appealing

University of Baltimore- 3/14 Accepted

Status Checker-

Baylor- 3/15- WAITLISTED because seats are filled ??, BUT OFFERED ADMISSION FOR SPRING 2014 if I reactivate my application.

4/10- Just been accepted by email to UNIVERSITY OF ILLINOIS COLLEGE OF LAW with 50% TUITION. :)

NO CLUE WHAT I AM ABOUT TO DO.

4/15- UIUC- I emailed financial aid office to discuss more scholarship opportunities, emailed back stated that they have more scholarships for current students than admitted students.
I see great potential with UIUC, so I initiated the exchange of money in the form of the first seating deposit.

It is non-refundable, but I could not be happier with this choice!

Good luck to all.

Also I will finish out the cycle as soon as I hear about the other schools!

How did you get your decision from Baltimore?

I received the decision by email a week after the status was complete!!

I honestly believe you are underestimating your potential. You should have applied to considerably more top 20 law schools. I would have added Cornell to your list. At least half of the schools you applied to are not worth attending.

In my mind, I guess I didn't have a chance.. Tried to weigh my options the best I could. But I didn't apply to other schools that I did not put on the list, however, none were top 20. They were in the top 50 though

I'm really leaning towards IUB, but I have some financial concerns with the school. I need to justify if the debt is worth the education. Otherwise, I might be better going off to SUNY Buffalo. (Even though is not a spectacular place to spend 3 years.) I have a free trip to IUB this weekend so I will have a better idea later on. Also, IUI sent me a scholarship letter today, (a solid month after I got an accepted letter) so I should look again into the school. Hope you hear great thing from your schools!

Your cycle is looking good as well. My thought is that I'll attend the highest ranked school, that offers the greatest scholarship, with the most lenient stip.

Congrats

I didn't notice that you had decided to attend Uof I. Good luck, U of I is definitely a contender on my list. We shall see what happens. I received the UBS drive yesterday. I want to visit the campus in 2 weeks.
