Yeah, I have no idea why I was waitlisted. I'm still a little upset about it because it seems so random. Maybe I'll get into Harvard and I can tell them they suck. :) Who knows, maybe we'll end up at Tulane together!
I am basically waiting for aid information but if GW turns out to be outrageously more expensive than Fordham - I may just go to Fordham. Hypothetically Brooklyn is in the running to. But they would have to offer me a lot of money. you have some great acceptances/money- congrats.
tulane is considered a tier 2 school - they have offered you a LOT of money per year - but you would still go with 2 top 20' s (GW/ND) acceptances? just curious.
I don't live in Dallas. I live in Alaska (that's AK, right?) Would you go to G'town if you got off the waitlist?
Yes, I'm the hella old guy from admit day. What gave it away, my GPA? :) ND is my #1 right now also, but they're not giving me any $$$ :(
Yeah, I'm checking my mailbox obessively. I am hoping for money too...
I don't think NW pulls off their WL until June/July. That might be too late. Similar to what you said, if I'm already have an apartment and I'm set up, I'll doubt I'll want to go. I contacted ND about $$$, they sounded pessimistic about me getting any. I do live in Dallas. The Alaska thing is my pathetic way of preserving anonymity. Did the other girls from Admit day e-mail you the pics they took from the trip? Let me know if you want them.
Sent you e-mail. I'm not waiting any decisions. I should be able to make a decision after I visit W&L.
I haven't heard from Emory yet. I do know my application is complete though.
I'm visiting this weekend (3/18.) We'll see how much fun these guys are compared to ND admits :)
I thought it was pretty strange, and I've never heard of anyone being able to apply after the deadline. It made me feel special, so I applied. Also, I'd rather live in Philly than New Orleans.
I want to practice in DC, and Tulane is really a regional school. I know parts of NO are really beautiful though. :)
It was ok. The faculty was cool, the students were a mixed bag (some happy to be there, others not so much.) The town is really small, like maybe a 1/4 the size of South Bend, but it is much prettier. Still, I think its between ND and USD for me. Looks like you have some new acceptances. Congrats!! You've got a tough decision to make in the coming weeks.
Thanks for the encouragement and info. I definitely feel very welcomed at Tulane... They send me a new postcard every week!
I have no idea what's up with USD. They said they reconsider everyone for scholarships on a yearly basis. I think its because a lot of people who do well their first year transfer to UCLA/USC. Concerning your 6 choices, I vote for either ND or GW. ND cuz I'll probably end up there and GW cuz D.C kicks @ss and I would love to go there except I got rejected (I like run-on sentences.) Plus, if you get in off the G'town waitlist, you don't have to move.
I found out today that ND still won't give me any $$$. I think I'm going to go there anyway, but I'm going to wait a couple of days before making a decision. Its still ND vs. USD for me. I've started to withdraw everywhere else. Looks like you're going to ND, cool!
I e-mailed and they said they would check again in the summer if they had any funds to redistribute. You should call/email so they'll keep you in mind if they do.
The new 2006 US News rankings are out, and Tulane is up from #56 to #41! I am now seriously considering attending Tulane, even if I do get into American.
Good thing you called! Most schools have different deadlines for those receiving scholarships. I got my confirmation e-mail from ND today saying they received my despoit, so I changed my profile.
It is still up in the air...right now it looks like Notre Dame or Tulane.
