Additional info & updates

Jan 31st: Was Accepted at MC Law after visit to campus; school is a bit far for me though

Feb 1st: Accepted into Belmont University School of Law's Charter Class. May take this opportunity, but still waiting to see what other opportunities arise.

Feb 4th: Accepted into Lincoln Memorial-Duncan School of Law in Knoxville. I like the school, nice facilities and state of the art technology. Still a newer school, only 2 years old, and still seeking ABA certification. I like the school, but it may not be the right fit for me at this point.

Feb 8th: Arkansas-Little Rock requested an addendum emphasizing my interest in their school and location. I politely refused stating that I did not feel it would be appropriate to write such a statement because the distance to the school was an issue. I was promptly placed in the "deferred" stack after that.

Feb 11th: U of Louisville placed my file on hold until after reviewing the full pool of applicants. This was disappointing.

Feb 19th: Beginning to wonder if any of my top schools are going to fall my way.

Feb 23rd: Samford finally moved my file from Complete to under review. Very slow process it appears there.

Feb 23rd: John Marshall has moved my status to "schedulled for review"

Feb 24th: Memphis has changed status to: "Decision rendered-letter in the mail"

Feb 25th: Nothing in Mail yet from memphis...may be a little too eager...

Feb25th: Visited Samford University. Very nice campus but maybe too much for my personal comfort level. Im looking at Public Service and really question the private school debt amounts on a public service salary. Of course, Id have to be accepted somewhere, and that isnt happening like i thought it would...

Feb 28: Mercer Visit, The school has definately exceeded my expectations

Feb 28: Acceptence Letter from Memphis. Large packet...Good News

Mar 2: Waitlisted at Samford. This doesn't concern me. I had already decided I did not want to go to school here, just wasn't the right atmosphere for me.

Mar 3: Accepted at John Marshall via email and status checker. Scholarship Packet to arrive in mail.

Mar 4: Decision letter in mail from U of Tennessee. I fully expect this to be a letter of rejection.

Mar 8: In at Charlotte via status checker

Mar 8: After phone conversation with Louisville, I have decided to treat my application as a waitlist. I was told that a hold would remain on my application through april and maybe into may before it would be revisited. This is too late in the cycle to matter.

Mar 9: Accepted at Mercer via email. I like this school alot so this is very good news.

Mar 9: Witdrew application at Louisville. They appeared surprised by my decision and stressed that I had a very strong application. Makes me wonder why I was placed on hold till May then...

Mar 16: I would say its better than 90% that I attend Mercer

Mar 26: Fully Committed to Mercer

Was forced to withdraw from Mercer due to financial difficulties, since it is very late in the cycle, it will be a challenge to find a seat this year...that doesn't mean that I will not try though.

My online status went from, "in review- decision pending" to Nothing. I mean nothing at all in that spot. Did you have this experience or notice this? JC

No, I did not have this experience. My status only went from pending to in the mail, with no blank area. I'd follow up with them though.

Dan, I went complete about 3-4 weeks ago, pre-evaluation 1 week ago, and committee review last friday. got the acceptance in the mail today before my status updated and now i'm showing "decision mailed".

Yeah the UT waitlist is tough, but I'm really excited about FSU. Why are you withdrawing from Louisville?

Congratulations on your acceptance there and your acceptances in general! I would agree with you that it is a better place than people realize, but in all fairness, law schools look at us as numbers, why should we not do the same to them? The cost is the only downside to me, which is why I am still holding out hope for Georgia State because around the Atlanta area is where I want to live.
