Hey! Thanks a lot for your advice. I grew up In Portland and I agree that aside from a few dreary months it really is the perfect city. I went to college in Boulder and it sounds very similar to Eugene: liberal and outdoorsy (minus the snootiness that shrouds Boulder!). I'm curious why you're set on going to L&C. Have you detected a notable difference in academic reputations between the two schools? I'm going to visit both schools in April and I'll withdraw as soon as I make a decision. Your numbers are very close to mine so I'm sure you'll get in soon enough. Good luck and thanks for the advice!
I might have mislead you with my comments--I'm actually not totally set on L&C...I think UO and L&C are neck-and-neck as far as rep goes, but I didn't even apply to UO--I don't want to go back to Eugene after too many years there! It is an awesome town, though--I'm just burned out on it. I'm also completely in love with Portland. I applied to L&C and Willamette, with the idea that I'll live in Portland and commute wherever I go. I'd rather go to L&C for the location, but I have a far better chance of getting some money from Willamette. We'll see! Good luck to you and keep us all posted!
Sometimes you can get loan forgivance programs through public interest law. You should look into it at the schools you have applied/been accepted to. It may be worth your while! Also, I grew up in Denver, and if you KNOW you want to practice in Denver, DU is prob the place you want to be. However, if you would like to practice in Colorado (not Denver-speciffic) or along the front range, Colorado is probably a better bet. Both CU and DU will have 'green' law buildings in the fall. Also both CU and DU have stellar environmental law. I hope I helped! Good Luck with all your pending applications!! :)
Hey, the scholarship came seperately about two weeks after I was accepted. Best of luck.
Visited Lewis & Clark and Oregon. L&C has really cold-looking buildings but inside they're super-modern. It's a little shocking. I visited on a Wednesday afternoon and maybe I got the wrong impression but the school seemed deserted and lifeless. The library was empty, the lounges were empty. Maybe that's the mark of a community school. I was really impressed by the U of O. The staff was really friendly, the students were eager to talk and give advice and, unlike L&C, the school was bustling with activity. Did I mention that more people smiled and said hi than I could keep count? I had a great impression of OU. Somehow, I was in Oregon for five days and only encountered a few light showers, what a miracle!

Anyone know anything about New Mexico? I haven't been able to visit yet.
Has anyone visited these schools yet? Any thoughts or comparisons?
