I only wrote a two-sentence thing about how I'd like to go to UCLA because of their Law and Philosophy program (I'm a phil major) but other than that, no special essay. :) Good luck on NYU! I check their admitted student's website like a crazy person.
Hey... Nope, I'm not in MHC. I only became interested in academics my freshman year, so my HS grades were average. I hope your prediction becomes reality... Do you have any special WE post-graduation from our TTT UG lol?
Oh, well that's good then. I never did BALA. I'm double majoring in history and political science, and kind of regret not doing BALA (or actually trying to do well in HS and making it into MHC lol). I was thinking about deferring for a year, but I don't see where I'd be able to get a halfway decent full-time job. A non-URM with a 3.97 and 168 just got into NYU. I don't know if that's good news or bad news for us...

thanks for the congrats. my softs aren't too spectacular I am on the executive committee of an investment team that manages money for my school's endowment and I'm in the jazz band. I had an internship at Merrill Lynch and did some economics research also. good luck on NYU.

^mao. first of all, ouch! and second, i got into Macaulay Honors College which is free, plus $750 a year stipend, plus MacBook, plus free semester abroad. NYU was 40k+/year. no brainer.
omg yes, that was TOTALLY me. I was trying to ask good questions, was I being a gunner? Is that what we call them? haha. Clinics sound pretty good at UVA, and they're something really important to me. Loved ASW! BTW--was it the braces that gave me away?? I saw a blonde girl sitting diagnoal behind me on the other side of the room. you? (equally creepy, haha)
Btw, why do you need to stay in New York? Omg, I'm getting the same feeling about California. I'm such a local girl, it'll be so hard to leave!! *COLD FEET.

Hah, thanks. Finally waitlisted - oh well. I am pretty sure Fordham only offered me 60k, lol, and I've also heard that's actually at the higher end of what they give out, which means your scholarship is amazing. Congratulations!

i appreciate your advice. i would have loved to go to UVa. but i am recently married and my husband accepted a job at an NYC investment bank starting in july. we don't want to be apart. i will hardly see him during law school as it is, so imagine what it would be like if we lived 7 hours apart. bottom line- i chose fordham for personal reasons. plus, i got a pretty nice scholarship there :)
Won't be attending Fordham. Too expensive. I only got $12k/year. If I had your scholarship level, I would have. My freshman year doomed me.
