Additional info & updates

04/14/2009- Officially going to be a Buckeye again. After I found out I was one of only 6 people to get the Moritz Scholarship, I knew I was staying for another 3 years. Super excited...GO BUCKS! (It is pretty hard to say no to Vandy though!)

12/13/08-Yesterday I got the call from BU saying I'm in. Today, a huge package from Vandy with the acceptance. This is AMAZING!

12/11/08-Very nice voice message from Loyola letting me know I was accepted and I get a scholly for doing AmeriCorps. Then I went online today and checked my Vandy status checker--decision sent TODAY! I'm freaking out. I hope I got in!

12/08/08-Call from OSU with an acceptance. Awesome! I just love Ohio State. She also encouraged me to apply for the Moritz Scholarship which is a full ride living expenses so that will definitely be happening! Yay :)

12/03/08-What an amazing day! I had my Vandy interview which was amazing. I talked to the alum for almost an hour and a half and at the end she told me she thought I would be a "perfect fit." Hopefully the admissions office feels the same way :) So I get home feeling all warm and fuzzy and I have my first acceptance in the mail...IN AT GEORGETOWN. What an amazing day!!!

11/12/08-Well...it's done. I just sent out Northwestern's application so I'm completely done. I only did one of the optional essays (why NW) instead of two. I hope that doesn't cost me too much. After interviewing there last Friday, I fell in love with the school. Fingers are crossed but I don't expect to get in. Hell, I just hope I get in somewhere.

10/29/08-Found a hidden fee waiver from Vanderbilt. Awesome. I also called BC and she said not to worry about the typo (ya right...I'm still freaking out!)

10/28/08-OMG SHOOT ME NOW. I just realized that I have a typo in my personal statement to BC and BU. I typed "hard word" as opposed to "hard work." Of course these are two of my top choices. Please oh please don't let them reject me for being an idiot!!!

10/28/08-more fee waivers. Nice ones from Virginia and UCLA! Salty I didn't get one from Duke. Just submitted my first application today-BC to make sure I got in by the EA deadline. I was shaking I was so nervous to hit submit. I hope I didn't make any mistakes...eek!

10/27/08-fee waivers today from Notre Dame, Illinois, Pace, Texas, and Cincinnati. Always a nice ego boost. Then I hear people getting them from Columbia and NW and I get a little tear. Wah Wah.

10/27/08-Thankfully the LSAT wait is over. 168 and I'm pretty pleased (although a 170 would have been great haha). Now I'm just narrowing down the list of my schools to apply to. I would love to end up in Boston I must say... I want to have all of my apps out by Nov.1st. We'll see how that goes.

10/08/08-anxiously awaiting that darn LSAT score...I'm totally freaking out.

I can't wait to figure out what other schools I want to apply to but I can't decide until I find out my score.

Also...I made an appointment with Northwestern since I'm visiting the beginning of November. I think that might have been dumb. Maybe I'll bomb the LSAT and look like a fool....argh.

Good luck to you as well, buckeye. Looks like the nation's eyes are on you guys again for this Presidential cycle ;) Are you thinking about doing an ED anywhere?

Saturday, October 25 2008 at 08:00 PM

Well, I was thinking about it for Northwestern, but the longer I linger, the more I think I have good enough chances that I should use an ED on UChicago and just apply regular decision everywhere else. I don't have a lot to lose that way. BTW, I really don't think a slight typo like that will really hurt your chances. Your margin of error for Boston ought to be pretty big with numbers like those.

God luck to you too!

I commiserate with the typo thing. I just discovered I used 'do' instead of 'due' in my speeding ticket addendum I've already sent to 4 schools. But if this is what gets me dinged, I quit now.

Thanks!

Thanks, good luck to you too! BC was my undergrad- if you end up there, I'm sure you'll love it, it's a great place.

Sorry
Friday, October 31 2008 at 08:00 PM

Sorry, I read on a forum that Vandy had a glitch and everyone's status checker said their decisions were sent out today, but someone called them and they apologized and said it wasn't the case. We have slightly similar numbers, except your GPA kicks my butt. Good luck with your cycle!

Good luck to you!

Yes, hopefully we'll both get into great schools! Right now I'm just hoping the schools skim the last sentence of my PS, as I just found I used "who's" instead of "whose." Sigh.

Same LSAT, you have a higher GPA. Good luck at GULC, we both may need it girl!

Welcome back

I'll definitely be going to the Cornell ASW, and probably Vanderbilt as well, though it all depends on where else I get in and such. You?

Congrats

Hey thanks for your note (written like a month ago-I've been sort of inactive). I just wanted to say congrats. It looks like you're 3/3! Getting into OSU and being asked to apply for the Moritz must have been exciting. Hope your cycle goes well.

Thanks

for the congrats on GULC! I'll definitely be at the spring ASW, I just didn't mention it earlier because I didn't know if I'd get in, and I didn't want to jinx it, haha. Hope to see you there!

your "hard word" paid off big with BC and BU. Congrats! I live down the street from BC Law, it's a great campus. Looks like we're gonna have some enviably difficult decisions to make this spring. Keep me abreast, and good luck with the remaining few!

Thanks!

Thanks Buckeye you are so sweet! Maybe I'll see at BC in the fall!! [omg sorry, so excited]

Thank you

for the NU congrats...it was totally unexpected. You (and anyone, for that matter) definitely have a shot if I did, haha. Oh yea, how did you like your trip to Boston? I'm actually working on a grad school paper in the BC Law Library right now, it's a pretty nice campus. Thoughts?

How does it feel to be sitting on a pile of cash from Vandy? Is it AmeriCorps related?

Visit?
