Additional info & updates

*Scholarship amounts are total amounts

02-04-10 Got an encouraging e-mail to apply to Florida Coastal. I was never intending on looking in that region, but a free application and a 20K per year scholarship sound good.

02-06-10 In so quickly at Florida Coastal! With 60K as promised. This is my first response so even though it was a given, it's definitely a confidence booster.

02-08-10 In at both Loyola Chicago and Mizzou in the same day! This cycle is getting off to a great start. Nothing about scholarships yet... Now let's hear from some target schools :)

02-16-10 I haven't heard anything else. I am getting so anxious. I know sooner or later I will get a rejection, but I have high hopes... What is taking so long to go complete at UCLA and Cornell?!

02-17-10 I got an e-mail from Loyola Chicago offering me 7,500 per year! I am so excited. Things are going well so far.

02-26-10 Just got waitlisted at Illinois... Hmm I wonder if they actually go to their wait list or if this is basically a rejection.

03-01-10 Got a scholarship from Mizzou in the mail today!! I am so excited. This has been going so well thus far. I am still waiting on a letter from DePaul. My status checker changed to "decision letter sent" days ago.

03-05-10 Phone call from DePaul! They wanted to answer any questions I had about the school, but I told them I didn't receive the letter yet. They, then, informed me of my acceptance!

03-14-10 I was away from home for a while, and I came back to a lot of great news! 45K from DePaul, another 2,500 from Loyola Chicago in grant money, and in at SLU with a whopping 69,000!!!

03-24-10 Phone call from Mizzou to increase my scholarship!!! They are really persuading me!! Letters on the way from Loyola LA and Santa Clara

04-19-10 First 'no strings' scholarship from Chicago Kent!

Thanks! It took a couple of weeks for me to go complete at SLU. Is it your top choice?

Thanks! I am sure you will do great this cycle. What is meant to be will be! :)

Thanks a lot for the congrats. I did not write any Why [insert school here] essays either. Besides my personal statement, the only other statement I submitted was my diversity statement. I am sure that you will do fine in your cycle also!

Thanks and good luck to you on your cycle. As far as W&M goes, I'd have to get into another one of my reach schools before considering pulling away from W&M. I'm not expecting to get into any of those, but we'll see what happens. You have a top choice?

Mizzou Scholarship
Friday, November 20 2009 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on your scholarship to Mizzou! My letter said that the scholarship will be spread evenly over six semesters. It is renewable after 1 year, if I remain in the top 50%.
