FW - Fee Waiver
Law School Predictor (only put something down if the prediction was incorrect):

Deny:
American: waitlisted/withdrew
Chicago-Kent: deferred
Colorado (ED)
W&L
Arizona (EA): deferred/waitlisted
Wake Forest
Pitt: waitlisted
Arizona State
Richmond (FW)
Georgia State (FW)
Minnesota (FW) :waitlisted
Wisconsin: waitlisted
Washington
Iowa: waitlisted/rejected
UNC (FW) waitlisted
Kentucky (FW): admit
Ohio State: waitlisted
Houston

Weak Consider:
Denver: admit
Loyola: waitlisted/withdrawn
MSU: waitlisted/withdrawn

Consider:
New Mexico: waitlisted
Rutgers-Newark: deferred -> waitlisted
Wyoming: admit/withdrew

I find it interesting that most schools under "Deny" did not reject me outright if they did, or I'm as of yet waitlisted. I am attending a school that LSP said would definitely deny me.

Additional info & updates

Don't expect to get into too many schools, but crossing my fingers and hoping for the best!

I wrote my personal essay on the failing education system and my desire to go into education reform law.
Please feel free to contact me, I know LSN really helped me during my law school application process so I'd like to give back.

Good luck everyone!

4/20 - Waitlisted at New Mexico, at UNC, and at Arizona. Rejected at Iowa via status checker.

4/16 - Waitlisted at Rutgers.

4/6 - My seat deposit should have arrived today at Kentucky.

4/2 - A day of rejections. Snail mail, no Richmond for me! And no GSU.

3/13 - Snail mail letter rejecting me from Houston. On a rejection roll here -- looks like it's still Kentucky for me.

3/8 - Snail mail letter rejecting me from CO. I highly doubt I'll be off the waitlist anywhere, if CO rejects me! I find it ironic since my entire personal statement was about improving education in CO (at least, to them it was).

3/6 - Saw via status checker that I am waitlisted at Iowa. Now I am waiting on Richmond, Houston, and UNC. I'm going to guess waitlist at Richmond/Houston and rejected at UNC. Looks like Kentucky will be my place this fall.

3/2 - Withdrew from MSU's waitlist.

2/23 - Over the last few days, I learned that GSU deferred me for a second round of review, and Wisconsin waitlisted me. I am the waitlist queen apparently. These were both by email. I also withdrew from Loyola.

2/15 - Withdrew from Wyoming.

2/14 - American University emailed me and waitlisted me. What a shocker! I didn't want to go here anyway, so I withdrew.

2/13 - Found out over the weekend (via snail mail) that I was waitlisted at Michigan State. I am actually very surprised about this, as my family and I have had a long history with this school. Also, it's not really a super high-ranked school, so I'm not sure what their reasoning was, but nonetheless I don't care, and will withdraw anyhow.

2/9 - Found out last night (via email) that I was waitlisted at Pitt. A little disappointed, but I'm not too worried.

2/3 - Waitlisted at Loyola! (via email)

1/31 - Found out last night that I was deferred at Rutgers and rejected at ASU (via snail mail). No surprise. Found out I got a 13,700~ scholarship at Kentucky.

1/27 - Found out via email that I am rejected from Wake Forest. No surprise there!

1/17 - Got an email today that officially rejected me from University of Washington. Not a surprise--definitely expected that.

1/13 - Found out via email that I'm in at Denver! Once again LSP guessed wrong.

1/10 - Found out via email that I'm in at Kentucky! Take that Law School Predictor!

1/8 - Decided to write an essay of continued interest for all my deferred and waitlisted schools. Not sure how much it'll help, but it's worth a shot. Emailed them out today.

1/6 - Found out via email that I was waitlisted at Minnesota. Seriously? Can somebody just reject or accept me?

1/5 - After doing some research, decided to apply to Houston. Seems like a solid school with good job prospects in Texas.

1/4 - Deferred at Kent (via email). Not sure why every school is deferring me...
In at Wyoming (via email)!

1/3 - Got back from break to see that I was waitlisted at OSU (letter in the mail) and deferred at University of Arizona EA (letter in the mail).

12/14 - Deferred at Colorado (letter in the mail) :( Not surprised, but still disappointed.

11/30 - OSU, last school I'm applying to.

11/29 - Fee waiver at University of Kentucky.

11/25 - Fee waiver at UNC. Which is definitely weird bc they accept mostly in-state and I don't have the numbers. Probably a ploy to get their numbers up? Applied anyway.

11/19 - Applied to five more schools: Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Michigan State, and Washington.

11/13 - Applied to Georgia State and University of Richmond last minute. Both sent me emails and fee waivers inviting me to apply and both seem like pretty solid schools.

11/10 - Washington and Lee sent me an email saying they had reached a decision, which was super fast. I was rejected, which is no surprise.

10/31 - All applications minus 3 sent, and I'm sending them off tomorrow. I don't expect to hear a decision for another month or two, at least, so the waiting game begins.

Hi and thanks! I consider myself very lucky to get some acceptances this early in the cycle. Good luck to you and your cycle! I'm sure you'll get into a good school.

Same Schools

We have a very similar lineup of schools. I see you even took the same approach as me... apply to a lot of denys and maximize the potential of getting into one. Good luck on your cycle!

How did you hear about the deferral at Kent? Did you get an email?

Wednesday, December 28 2011 at 07:00 PM

Congrats on Wyoming! I'm still waiting to hear. Did you get an email or did you check status checker?

Hey we have similar numbers...I know what you mean with the waitlists. Going three for three with them myself... Good luck with the rest of the cycle, I am sure we will both be playing until the end!

Congrats on getting into UK. I got accepted yesterday as well!

Wednesday, January 04 2012 at 07:00 PM

Yes I am definitely considering UK! I actually go to undergrad still at UK so it would be an easy transition. I have applied to 11 others places though and have yet to hear from any. I applied a little late in the game. If you have any questions about UK, I will do my best to answer them.

Hi, just browsing through your list.. We've applied to alot of the same schools! I also got accepted to Wyoming last week. Very excited! I've been waitlisted to a great many others so I know how you feel there.. can't they just tell us from the get go?

Monday, December 19 2011 at 07:00 PM

Thanks for the info on Denver. I took a tour there this last week and it seemed like a nice place but $$$ and a big gamble with jobs...Id rather take my chances at a state school.

Congrats

Congratulations on your cycle man! How did UK notify you of your scholarship? How long after your acceptance did they notify you?

Are you sending any supplemental documents for Kent? Did you give them a call to see why they deferred you?
