Application

My resume was really pretty basic. I held a few fraternity leadership positions and was involved in a few other things, but nothing spectacular. Overall I didn't think that my apps were that impressive, but so far so good. Best of luck with your applications.

are you planning..

on posting your sent/complete dates? I'm curious, since we're applying to the same schools and have very similar numbers. Best of luck with your apps.

Thanks!

for the best wishes. You must have good karma, since I was accepted to my first two schools within hours of you posting. ;o) Re: my top choice I'm not sure how to answer that, since I'm in a somewhat unique position. We just moved to Chicago because my husband received a promotion. He works for a Fortune 100 company and his current job has a lot of potential, so I hate asking him to leave. Thus, Loyola or Chicago-Kent are my top choices because they allow us to stay in Chicago. HOWEVER, I'm super competitive (in a good way ;o) ) and I like to do the very best I can, so it's going to be hard to turn down a school like Notre Dame for somewhere like Loyola....I'll keep you posted once I figure out the drama ;o) Best of luck on all your apps. I'm sure with your scores that you will do terrific. I'll be checking up!

U of I
Tuesday, December 20 2005 at 07:00 PM

I have not been to U of I for the open house yet, but I am going to the March 3rd one, so I can give you more feed back on that then. The reason I have U of I so high on my list is because it is cheap (in state), a good school and has lots of connections to the Chicago job market. If you are interested in working in Chicago its a great choice, but if you want to go to one of the coasts I have heard they do not bring in a lot of employers from NY, DC or LA. I wouldn't say I am totally sold on it yet, (still considering WUSTL) but right now with in state tuition plus scholarship $ it may be hard to turn down.

UIUC

Glad to hear you might be attending UIUC. Any particular reason why you're leaning that way?

nope...
Friday, May 13 2005 at 08:00 PM

not yet. Still waiting for UIUC, since in-state tuition may throw them into the mix. My cousin is pushing really hard for ND. He's in the Chicago legal community and thinks there's no justification for turning down ND for Loyola. Based on numbers, I'd have to agree with him. But sometimes life's about more than that, eh? Anyway, thanks for thinking of me ;o) Send some more of that great karma over so I can hear back from UIUC soon. Good luck with the rest of your apps!!! I'll be checking in...

Kent!

It's always so easy to see what someone else should do. Go to Kent. I have a friend who went there and can't say enough about it. They are very cutting-edge from what I hear.
