In my book SMU beats out the T14, if you've been there you know what I'm talking about. That is why I would gladly take any offer (FT or PT) from them. Attending SMU would be a dream come true for me. If only I'd be so fortunate!

I know it's alittle late, but no I didn't have to explain my low LSAT score. I just applied with it and hoped for the best. I can't believe they waitlisted you. Their numbers were even lower last admissions cycle than they were in mine. You probably know this, but LOYNO is a great school for Moot Court and International Law, or if you are planning on practicing in New Orleans. It's on equal footing to Tulane as far as NOLA firms go. Wish you the best!

On UConn and SMU

OK. Here it is, first of all, I didn\'t know that my posting this information may bring out so much(?) interest so quickly. I believe I\'m not a usual case, because instead of patiently waiting throughout the end(which is what waitlist really means as you said), I emailed the admissions committee on my time issue. You see, I\'m an international applicant and I\'m worried about time enough to handle US student visa application process, so I asked if the law school has any advice on this. UConn admission committee replied that they would give me decision on my wait list in one-week time. They did via email as I asked them via email, and the email title read as \'release from waitlist\'. I quote from the eamil \"the response to our offers of admission has been greater than anticipated\", by this, I assumed that the class is full, which is not a 100% safe assumption I know, but not a positive prospect for those placed on the waitlist. (also, considering that law schools usually give out double or triple the number of entering class slots as offers of admission, and that the responses to their offers were greater than their anticipation, I assumed that it is quite safe to say that their class is full.) As for SMU Dedman, they emailed me back that right now \"the class is full\", i\'m quoting it word for word, so there is no doubt about that. but they notified that they will let me know \"should anything change\". I\'m sure someone can backout before August, that\'s what the waitlist means, just possibility. but as international student, who needs US student visa timely, that\'s not an option i can take. you might want to wait till August, and I bid you good luck :)

Hey there! Yeah I felt like I should update my SLU status since I, like you constantly checked the site every freaking day to see if anyone updated their waitlist status. I almost gave up hope, but then I received a phone call saying there was an opening. I wish you all the best and hope you hear good news from SLU.

LOCI

Oh, I thought I should add. Since I graduated awhile ago, I did not have anything really new to add to my resume. Instead, I sent 2 LOCIs (one when I was waitlisted and another when I received an email asking if I wanted to still be on the waitlist). That just might help you since it helped me.

I called and asked if there was any waitlist movement and they said there was not and they would notify me when there was. So 4 minutes later they call and offer me a spot!
