Additional info & updates

7 years work experience with federal government (DOS), 3 years overseas experience, including central/east Africa (Burundi), rated fluency (3/3+) in French by National Foreign Affairs Training Center. Looking to move on...but low scores seem to be a factor, clearly. Wish I could start over!

- Admitted to DU on 2/3 -- small white envelope - not sealed. Thought it was a small rejection letter so typical of other schools. Have to admit, I feel a strange kinship with DU's low numbers, and am happy to have been accepted. The "Congratulations!" is so much nicer than the "After long and deliberate consideration, we are unable to...." or, the "Despite our firm belief that your accomplishments and academic record are a predictor of success, the number of applicants at our school makes it impossible to admit every qualified candidate". So far, Cornell is my favorite rejection letter, and U Minn is my least favorite. Like I give 2 damns about how many applicants you had. I paid my $80 . Just say yes or no.

-- 2/6 -- Ok, acceptance from UConn. Things are looking up. Guess I could learn the insurance game.

3/16 - Waitlisted at BC and American. Hmm. Priority waitlist - are there really two waitlists, or is this a ploy?

- There may be two waitlists at BC, but I've yet to see anybody on the "waitlist" - everybody on LSN seems to be on the priority waitlist.

-- Waitlisted at Virginia, which is like Mason making the final four - not sure if I deserve to be there, not a guarantee of anything else, but still feels great.

-- Anybody have any idea of what's going on at Fordham? Should I assume rejection - based on the upcoming (or past) admitted students open house? I miss the feeling of that thin white envelope in my hands - it's been nearly a month since I received a rejection letter, and it's affecting my confidence.

-- Waitlisted at USD. That wraps it up, UConn it is.

-- Still pending, i.e. rejected, at Fordham with no official word on when the pain ends.

5/11 - Finally rejected at Fordham. It took 8 months to figure out that I wasn't qualified?

7/21/06 - Got the call from AU. Tempting, but I'm buying a house and movin' on. Good luck to all of you, hope it works out...

I don\\\'t know about American but BC has a priority waitlist. Apparently they exhaust the priority waitlist first and then move onto the regular waitlist. Hope this helps... good luck!
