I cant believe I am writing this, but i am looking down at the acceptance letter from loyola chicago. I am very thankful that a great school has thrown me such a great offer. Im still waiting to hear about any $$$ but for now i will be content with just the letter. Im hoping i will be an example that ANYTHING is possible in this application game. Lets keep the positive results ROLLING!

QUIET!

On a positive note, got into loyola new orleans with a nice scholarship (via white small envelope). I also got waitlisted at American this morning (via email). What are the chances I could pull off that waitlist? I would love to move to DC. I hear great things about the city & school.

Wish me luck.

Getting Anxious to hear back from Kent, San Diego, & Santa Clara. Kent or Loyola? Any Chi-town folks want to share their opinions? I hear Loyola is gorgeous, but Kent is strong. Let me know.

February 16th, 2010

Heard from a bunch. Still waiting on Kent, San Diego, & Santa Clara (high interest). Waitlists, waitlists, wonder if one will break? Maybe! Hoping on American!! Which reminds me, I need to send a LOCI.

February 21st, 2010

So I found out that my application to USD was for part-time status. Major mistake and probably the reason I havent heard back from the school yet. As you can see, waitlists are killing my record right now. Im planning on visiting Gonzaga & Chicago in March; Im excited to get out of town and check out some potentials out.

March 11th, 2010

And its starting to rain. A couple rejections, waitlists. And a special summer program acceptance from Seattle - via status checker! I am very grateful! Also received a wonderful $10,000/year grant from Loyola Chicago!

Now the question heats up. Seattle or Loyola Chicago?? HELP ME! Thank goodness for my blessings. Good luck making similar tough decisions fellow applicants!

March 28th, 2010

Sold. Seattle it is. Not even going to visit Chicago. No disrespect, I fell head over heels on the northwest. Good luck people !

Congrats on Loyola!!! The first one feels so good lol. And boo Depaul, I think Loyola is better anyways. Good luck with the rest of your cycle.

lol isn't it so funny how you got in at Loyola, and rejected at DePaul, and I was accepted with $$ at DePaul, but waitlisted at Loyola?!?! lol I don't get it! Nothing makes sense in this process! Congrats tho... I really wanted to get in at Loyola over DePaul. Oh well. U should apply to better schools. No harm in trying!

Loyola

Congrats! I didn't know about Kent when I was applying, so I just never applied. You should apply to both and check them both out. Although I do have a friend there who in some way wishes he would have chose Loyola. But then again, that's just a personal opinion. I really liked Loyola for a number of reasons when I visited. I loved the location, great part of Chicago. It was gorgeous, and the views from the inside out were, too. The facilities were great, and newly renovated, but that depends on if you like the big city feel. It's not like an open campus, it's a 14 story building in the middle of downtown. Above all, I enjoyed the atmosphere. The people were all very friendly and the person I got the tour from was extremely helpful. I also met the Dean and that was a big game-changer. In a good way! I'd recommend you take a visit if you are seriously considering the school. Definitely worth your time. Yo soy Cubana.

Thanks

Hey man, thanks a lot for the shot out, and CONGRATULATIONS on Loyola! It's a really cool school and we might both end up in Chicago which is cool. I am sure that you will have many more acceptances in your future and quite a decision to make.

Check out the LUC facebook group. I just realized after seeing your e-mail that I'm one of the people that wrote you back about that, haha.

Southwestern and Good Luck
Monday, November 09 2009 at 07:00 PM

You applied to quite a few schools! Lol I am sure you will be hearing some great news soon. Southwestern took awhile to get back to me, but they sent an entire package snail mail. In the package was my invitation to interview for the scholarship. I am leaning towards Miami, but you never know.

Tough Choice
Wednesday, January 13 2010 at 07:00 PM

Well, after touring Seattle, I definitely would attend if I didn't have a better offer from Oregon. The law school is small and the cost of living in Seattle is expensive. You've got a tough choice. Seattle has a great set of resources to help students. Not sure about Loyola.

Saturday, November 14 2009 at 07:00 PM

Omg me too! I was really impressed by the faculty and students/alums. I'm not sure where I'll be living yet but I'm hoping to find something on Capitol Hill so I can just walk to class. What about you? Are you starting in the summer or fall?
