Additional info & updates

August 5th - TODAY IS THE GREATEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I GOT INTO KU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will post more information later for future applicants. I WORKED MY ASS OFF TO GET IN and DID THINGS NO OTHER WAITLIST STUDENT HAS EVER DONE!!!!!!! Keep that in mind!!!!!!!

7/14/10 - So KU hasn't admitted anyone from the fall waitlist and it's mid-july. They have had two cuts and I made it through both but it's really wearing on me as well as my other waitlist homies. I really hope they go to it at the end of July and take some of us..... They have been VERY hush-hush about everything so it's hard to tell but with my expert detective skills I have determined an approximate number of people i think are on the waitlist...but I still have no idea of my chances. We'll see....

6/4/10 - So this is my worst nightmare....it's June and I am still on the waitlist for KU.....
BUT...the good news is admissions says they will most likely look at the waitlist after the second seat deposit. So I am still praying to hear something before my birthday on the 28th!!!!
Also, I am going to update everything on my cycle after I hear from KU (good or bad). I want to be a reference for future students who apply to similar schools. I'll update everything! Good luck to everyone as always!

Hoping to get off the waitlist at KU. If not I will be attending Washburn. I would have liked to go to MSU but it is just way to expensive and there were a lot of other things I didn't like about them.

1st KU seat deposit is April 15th and the second is in June 15th. I think historically people have been taken off the waitlist (if it is activated) in May so hopefully I hear something. We'll see.

Good luck to everyone else.

hey man. i haven't been on this site in a while, but i did finally update my stuff. i am sorry to read your note. however, i totally understand where you are coming from and then some. you seemed like an excellent candidate (and then some). unfortunately, this process is all number driven...so people like you and me get screwed. i just want to let you know i can totally relate to the snob appeal of some of these elitist pricks on this and other websites. screw them. i know harvard lawyers who make a mediocre at best income, and lawyers from unranked schools who are not only happy, but filthy rich. best of luck on the rest of your cycle...good things will come to someone like you. id love to know where you end up!

Too Bad

Hey, It's too bad that some have to ruin it for the rest! Well wish you the best of luck with your cycle. Although I think top-law-school is worse in their "snobbishness" (not a word, but you get the point). You'll have to let me know where you end up because we might be at the same school! Hoping to get off KU waitlist as well! Good Luck to ya again!

Hey!! seat deposit deadline was today. We will know something soon about KU. Do you know where your going if you don't get off the wait-list?

Washburn

Yep I will most likely be going to Washburn if I don't get off the waitlist. I went and visited TJ in San Diego and it just didn't convince me to risk that much money because even with half scholarship Washburn is still cheaper overall. I have a few friends that are at Washburn right now and all really like it. They commute form Lawrence though. That is my one issue is I didn't want to live in Topeka. Anyway, I am really hoping to get off at KU though. My cousin actually got rejected at KU and someone dropped off last minute for the summer start and he got in. He ended up graduating in the top 10% of his class, so there is still hope for us! Good Luck! Hopefully we will both get in!

Hey on your status checker did it change to decision letter sent? Mine changed to that today, so I wasn't sure if they filled their class and just letting us know or what.

Yep I am summer. I figured it would be my best shot. It will be a rough summer, but I do better with not a large class load so it would benefit me. I am hoping that I will get the letter today. Praying for the best but who knows. It is weird timing.

I chose Tennessee, and I hope they give you my spot and scholarship at Kansas! Best of luck, keep me updated.

I'm in the same situation you are! I'm also going to attend Washburn if I don't get off of KU's waitlist. Are you going to be living in Topeka? This "Late May" stuff is killing me!

Even more similarities! I am going to be living with my boyfriend in Lawrence. We just bought a house right next to downtown and 2 miles from KU and should be moving in in late May. I was actually born in Salina and lived in Lawrence for a short time before moving all around the country. Lawrence is a great city, and my realtor described Topeka as "depressing", so the decision was easy, haha. I'm in Lawrence for the weekend, and went on a tour of KU, where I got the 90% figure from the Admissions Office. She stated that it may not hold true for incoming classes because of the spike in applicants, but has been pretty accurate during previous years. They also told me about the June 15th seat deposit date. She said it will probably be late June, because it has to be postmarked by June 15th, not received.

I haven't visited Washburn yet. I was hoping to be moved into our house by then, but it turns out we won't be able to move until June 18th, which is the day of the bbq :( Let me know how it is! When my dad graduated from college (many, many years ago) he was going to attend Washburn and he has only told me good things. I hear their library is amazing! If we both end up going to Washburn, carpooling sounds like a good idea to me!

Yeah, I got the e-mail. I'm getting more and more impatient as the days go by! I hope they don't push it back even more after the 25th, though I am willing to wait as long as it takes. I'm sure you are too, because then there will be no long commute (hopefully for either of us). Let me know how Washburn is when you go see it for the bbq, I wish I could go!
