I'm seriously considering retaking next year no matter the results, but I've received a few application fee waivers. So, I figured what the hey.

1/24/10
I applied at Western New England because they sent me a really nice letter encouraging me to apply.

1/25/10
File complete at Seattle, Hofstra, and Case Western. Feeling pretty confident about my chances at Seattle and Howard.

1/28/10
Accepted at Loyola Chicago via status checker then email!!!! Nice but kinda pricey.

1/31/10
Complete at Oregon & UDC. Oregon isn't checking apps until mid-Feb...I may have already made a decision by then Ducks...

2/1/10
Gonzaga status checker says Decision Letter Generated. That doesn't sound good.

2/6/10
Rejected at Gonzaga. I knew it as soon as I saw the thin envelope sitting in the mail box. The other posters are right, it does sting a little. Oh well. On to the next one!

2/8/10
Ok, so I sent in two more applications to Hamline and Quinnipiac. At this point, I've been admitted into a great school; I now want to see if I can get some great scholarship money.

2/9/10
Status checker for Seattle U changed to "Under review for Access program". I've been denied for regular admissions and I'd have to start in June. It would still be great to be admitted!

2/18
Accepted at Willamette! I'm pretty darn happy about that one. It's moved to my number one. Came in a normal envelope, but I thought it was kinda thick to be a rejection--and it was!

2/22/10
Accepted at Hofstra via email letter to come! I booked my tours of a couple of schools today.

2/24/10
Accepted at Marquette. Thin envelope had me thinking it was a rejection. I'm so happy. I'll have to visit!

3/1/10
Accepted at Western New England via a phone call. Very nice. Waitlisted at Howard via email. This is agonizing!

3/2/10
Accepted at Hamline via Status Checker. This is great! Scholarship letter is on the way!

3/5/10
Waitlisted at L & C. Now that I've been offered a major scholarship from a fourth tier school I'm unsure of what to do. Do I attend a more respected school and pay sticker or do I attend a less reputable school and finish with no debt?
.
3/09/10
Accepted University of Oregon!!! Large white envelope. Now what am I supposed to do? Loyola-Chicago? Oregon? Willamette? Or Hamline with little debt?!?! Withdrawn from Hofstra and Marquette.

3/11/10
I'm touring Washington and Oregon schools. Seattle U is really, really energetic. I sat in on a Civ Pro class, and I was inspired to start right now. The students were really enthusiastic about the school. Traffic getting into Seattle is painful. If this is my pick, I'll be living near the school. Next up. U of Oregon!

3/12/10
U of Oregon is an amazing place. The law school is impressive and more spacious than Seattle U. Eugene has a decidedly different atmosphere than Seattle. I visited a Contracts class. Then students were participative, and intelligent. There were fewer students viewing Facebook at U of Oregon.

3/13/10
From the exterior Willamette U is a great. Lewis and Clark seems nice. We visited on a Saturday, so there weren't many students, but there was lots of activity of campus. The students were friendly and wiling to talk about their experiences.

3/14/10
Now, I must decide between Seattle U and Oregon. I think I'll have a better academic experience at Seattle U due the the numerous resources available. However, Oregon will cost less, has a better law school building, and a better town (obviously IMO).

3/25/10
Accepted at Case Western Reserve via email! This cycle has been unbelievable. I'd like to thank my Mother... Now to make a decision. I'm pretty sure I'm going to Oregon, but I liked Seattle's Moot Court Room much better. That shouldn't really matter should it? Oregon is cheaper. That's what I keep telling myself.
Withdrew from Willamette, Hofstra, Western New England,

4/12/10
After much debate, deliberation, and soul searching The University of Oregon School of Law is my choice. Seattle seems great, but the cost of tuition and living in Seattle is too great.

Good Luck to all of you who read my posts. It's been fun. See you in Oregon!

Hey man, what's up? Good luck on your cycle and congrats on Loyola! I got a big white envelope with the decision and the scholarship amount in it.

Hey thanks on the congrats...to you as well! I'm just curious how hard maintaining a 3.0 is at a school like Loyola. I probably wont be attending any events due finances. I'm trying to save $$$ for relocation cost for this summer to wherever I decide to live for the next 3 years. If you go though, please send me details! Thanks!

Yay Hofstra!

Congrats on Hofstra and all of your acceptances! Best of luck on your cycle!

hey, i noticed you were waitlisted at howard as well.. i'm bummed about that one! i'm assuming you received the same e-mail as i did..and it said not to contact them until after june 1st. do you think that means we can't send in a letter of continued interest?? anyway, congratulations on your other acceptances!! and good luck w/the rest of your cycle!!

I cant believe Howard WL'd you. Good Luck with the rest of your cycle

yeah i know.. i'm most likely gonna go to lsu, can't beat coming out of law school w/no debt. but i'm from cali and i eventually want to return to cali, and it seems like majority of lsu grads stay in louisiana. if i were to go to howard, however, it'd be more likely that i would have the option of coming back to cali. i was just bummed, wasn't expecting to be wl'd at howard! ohhh well, i guess everything works out the way it's supposed to work out.

Hey man, congrats again on the scholarship to Hamline. I can't believe Howard waitlisted you either! Doesn't matter though, because you have already been accepted into some really good schools. It looks like I'm headed to Loyola Chicago myself. Let me know if you will be heading that way.

Tier4 Scholarship vs TopTier

Yea man, its a tough choice but a very personal one. IMO I would focus also on other factors such as where would you most like to live and what kind of law do you see yourself practicing. What city suits you the most? If biglaw is your goal, go to the best school possible. If you think it might be public interest, graduate with no debt. Very personal choice though, and no one has the answer for you but you. My 3 cents.

Thank you for the congrats. Sorry about the zag reject but you have many great options to choose from. I'm right there with you on the debate to take a great scholarship from a t4 school or incur some serious debt. Big decisions with little time... let me know where the journey takes you. Best of luck and congratulations to you for all of your success.

hey!

looks like we are in the running of some similar schools. What did you think of Seattle?? I am excited to check it out. Also have you been to loyola chi? It is another favorite of mine, I am having trouble making a decision on where in the united states I want to settle down in! Let me know and keep me updated? much luck -D

Congrats!

Congrats on your acceptances... but even more: congrats on making YOUR decision! I visited L&C, too and loved it. Not sure if I am going to go, though. Make sure to do the OLIO program in Oregon- I hear that orientation program is very very helpful and great resource! Good luck!

If you aren't attending Loyola can you please withdraw? I'm waitlisted and it is my first choice! Thanks :-)
