Additional info & updates

12/29/2009 - I just don't understand why it's taking so long for JMLS, Loyola and NIU to make up their mind???? If they are rejecting me, I wish they would just put me out of my misery. Holidays rush is over and all that's left is anxiety.
But at least I am in at Valpo. :)

1/6/10 - still no news from JMLS, LUC and NIU. What's going on??? However I see many people rejected from LUC with the same/similar numbers as mine in past cycles. So I will not hold my breath too much for LUC, although this place would be my #1 choice.

1/12/10 Applied at Marquette. Something tells me I just lost $62. But what if I didn't?

Just a thought. I checked today the tuition and fees for MBA at Northwestern, guess how much - around $70K PER YEAR!!!! So much for JD allegedly being the most expensive education out there. Nowadays, it's the MBA that does not guarantee any job at all, even if it's from a top school, even if a graduate is top 1% of his class.
Just something to think about...

1/19/10 LUC status checker changed to "Decision Made". I hope whatever it is, it will be delivered soon, or else I will die from impatience. And there is some movement on my NIU status checker. The date changed to today's, but it says the same thing: "Application in Review". I hope it's an acceptance!

1/25/10 Rejected from LUC :(((( whomp whomp.
I am pretty sad about this one. Not that I had any illusions, but I did have lots of hope. And I was very very honest in my "why Loyola essay", no BS, I really wanted to go there.

1/27/10 Marquette sent an email notifying that my application is complete and that I should hear about the decision via snail mail within 8 weeks. Yet another waiting game.
I think if I will not hear from JMLS within 2 weeks, I will email an inquiry about my application. Someone told me today that it's a good sign, it's not a flat rejection. I hope so. Really hope so!

2/1/10 I am going to law school... I am totally psyched. Some people are happy for me and encouraging, and there are some that are trying to talk me out of it. But I am going anyway. I had two passions in my life. First passion ( a form of art), I pursued and it didn't work out in the end. And now this one, to be a lawyer, for now is working in my favor. I hope it will continue that way, and I will put all my strength in making it happen, and doing well in LS
Man, I am going to law school. How awesome!
P.S. And NO, pursuing an IT career is not my passion.

I feel the same way it's a dreadful process. Good Luck!

hi- good luck to you too. Think positively. You never know. I hope things work out well for both of us.

Loyola

Loyola is officially driving me freaking insane. They made my decision 1/4. I called and was told they mailed the letter 1/5. I live in NW Indiana, less than 1 hour from Chicago. I can be at loyola in 45 minutes. My mail to Chicago and from Chicago usually takes 2 days at most even when sent normally and not priority or overnight. Yet the letter still isn't here yet.

we can dream, can't we. hopefully you have one coming your way too! you should like valpo if you end up there. i live maybe 15 minutes from there and its a nice campus. it has a good reputation in the area so you should be able to find gainful employment once you graduate.

thanks

JMLS

I emailed JMLS yesterday about my status. I was complete since 11/18. The waiting sucks. anyway, the admissions office emailed me back today and said that they are busy with orientation for the new january class this week, and getting the new class settled in the week after. once that is all done, they will put more effort into admissions decisions and we will hear from them "soon". i was thanked for my patience. ugh!

NIU

NIU called me today, but I knew already because I checked their website.

likewise congrats on Valpo

I'm also waiting on JMLS and Loyola, but would be more than happy to attend Valpo. Perhaps we shall be classmates. Best of luck with your cycle!

Loyola

Sorry to hear that. I finally got around of applying for an LSAC fee waiver and got it so I applied to 4 other school I couldn't really afford to do when I applied originally in October. I hope I will get in somewhere. Now that I can apply for free I might just go insane and send out 4-5 more, but who knows. I wish you luck with everything. If you do end up at Valpo and you need some information about the area, let me know.
