8-11-09: My saga is finally at an official close as Harvard has gotten around to rejecting me. I didn't really think I had a chance, and I'm bemused as to why it took all summer for the decision. The email came this morning as I sipped coffee at the kitchen table of my new place in Ithaca, which I love. I'm all moved in and looking forward to meeting everyone at orientation in about a week or so. Thanks for the nice comments fellow LSNers, good luck to you all XD

5-18-09: Cornell Scholly; not bad ;^)

5-8-09: Finally withdrew from everywhere except the H-bomb & sent in my 2nd Cornell deposit. I am really happy about Cornell, especially after visiting. The jury's still out on financial aid; hoping to hear something next week; attending regardless :^D

4-15-09: NYU is feeling generous with its waitlist as well. Letter arrived today dated 4/9/09 and postmarked 4/11/09.

4-14-09: BREAKING NEWS--less than two minutes ago Harvard WAITLISTED me! I can't believe it; that's awesome! Don't get me wrong, I'm not delusional enough to think I could actually get in, but the fact that I have not been outright rejected given my numbers is heartening :^)
*In other news--can't wait to apartment hunt in Ithaca next weekend; got the official acceptance packet yesterday and now I am crossing my fingers that there might be a little grant money left for me as well...

4-9-09: Just got the official "you've been admitted" email from Cornell (12:50pm)...can't wait to get the package in the mail!

4-8-09: Noticed my status checker changed yesterday, but only the date not the actual status so I called to see about it and was told the committee was finalizing the review and that I should call back this morning for a decision. So I did, and...I'M IN!!! Cornell has been my dream school since high school! I can't believe it! I did it!
*Hope my data point and many successes this cycle provide some encouragement for future applicants :^) I will update whenever Harvey and NYU get around to rejecting me, lol

3-25-09: Received a letter from USC dated 3/17; waitlist. Given that I was born/spent half my life in Cali I am kind of saddened that I won't be returning to the ocean anytime soon :^( Waitlist email from UGA today also. Thus my cycle is pretty much at a close. I think it's been a good run though; ah, decisions...decisions...and deposit deadlines, yikes!

3-16-09: Admitted to IU-B, dated 3/12 with full ride all three years; sweet!

3-12-09: WUSTL is offering $20,000 a year via email, meanwhile UA has increased my scholarship to full tuition 1L and $25,000 2L/3L, which would convert to full tuition if I achieve in-state residency. Interesting...

3-8-09: Just got back from Admitted Students Day at OSU and found a $30,000 scholarship in my mailbox from BU, woot!

2-26-09: Joined the UVA Waitlist crowd of 2/26/09...it's an honor!

Re: Why Michigan?
Saturday, February 07 2009 at 07:00 PM

I didn't write a Why-Mich; I did essays 3 & 7 (expanding on GPA/LSAT and Diversity factors)... I was very hopeful, although I felt like a long-shot with my #s, and the ding really hurt, but I think I made out OK

congrats

Congratulations on being accepted to some great schools, I know you're excited! You might have already done this, but if you are no longer considering Alabama could you please withdraw? I'm still waiting and it's my top choice. Thanks and congrats again.
