- I applied for the 2006-2007 cycle. My profile is hkm6315. Got accepted off the waitlist from UIUC one week before classes started (with the 159) and deffered. I was offered a scholarship after I sent them my September score (162).
03/20/08 So I opened the mailbox today and saw the little white UT Law envelope and automatically started crying lol. It wasn't nearly as devastating as last time though because I have broken myself into the idea that being white, graduating undergrad from there, and not having a 166+ was all going to work against me.
Probably for the best though because I have been in this damn city all my life and I think it is time that I go experience some seasons. I am going to wait till early to mid April, but fairly confident that a little black A will be popping up next to U of Illinois.
P.S. Screw you UT...(My apologies to anybody reading this who is attending UT, honestly I am just jealous.: )
03-21-08 Waitlisted by Georgia on their online status checker... That is kind of frustrating... Would have been nice to see "Congratulations!" to offset the UT devastation. They said waitlist information is in the mail. I have a feeling that it is going to be nothing but waitlists/rejections from here on out.
Just glad I have Illinois plus $ in my back pocket now. Great program and loved the school. Going back to do open house next week. I went and visited the campus and it is beautiful and a very similar feel to UT-Austin.... Except for the fact that it is in the middle of a bunch of corn fields in the middle of nowhere... details details lol... Chicago is a 2 hr drive so whatever.
03-24-08 Virginia status checker changed to decision. I am 99.9% sure that this is a rejection letter. : )
03/29/08 Just got back from UIUC open house. It was pretty awesome. I love the feel of the campus and everyone seems to really like the school. Much more diverse curriculum than Baylor. So... By not sending in my April 1, seat deposit I guess I can put an official W next to Baylor.
4/3/08 Dear Vanderbilt and BC,
Please send me my rejection letters now so that I can be done with this rat race after two years of LSAT bs and applying to schools. I am ready to finally move on with my life.
4/25/08 Phone call from University of Georgia admissions. I'm in. Acceptance packet to follow next week.
5/7/08 That's it folks. After almost two years of this rat race I have finally punched out and made a final decision. Just sent in my final deposit to UIUC with no regrets.... I am going to miss studying for the LSAT and applying to schools though... That was fun lol. *sigh* (Yes, I am somewhat masochistic.. Seems like you kind of have to be in order to decide to attend law school in the first place! : )
