Additional info & updates

All scholarship totals are for 3 years and money is a big factor in my decision. Spring Law Day was a big part of my decision.

Will withdraw from all schools other than I.U.-Bloomington. Go Hoosiers!!!

3/24: Waitlisted at American. Apparently its yield protection. I have better offers from better law schools so I guess they predicted correctly.

3/21: 25,000/yr at Depaul contingent on 3.30 GPA.

3/20: Asked I.U. for commitment extension so I can have some more time to hear from Michigan. Michigan is such a reach that I'll most likely end up at I.U. regardless, and I'm fine with that.

3/18: Withdrew from Lewis and Clark after getting a letter saying that their class is full and that I can have a seat in 2010 or choose to be put on the waitlist.

3/16: Withdrew from Kent in order to give others chance at the honors scholarship

3/11: Got accepted to honors scholars program at Chicago-Kent. Full tuition plus 10,000/ yr stipend!
AND
Indiana Dean's Scholarship at IU-Bloomington, I am a resident of Indiana so its full tuition. Today was a good day.

3/08: Accepted to W&L, applied too late to get any money until, possibly, after seat deposits are due.

2/25: Accepted at GW a week after I sent application. No money though

Good luck at Michigan. I applied there too, but I'm not expecting anything (kind of like Northwestern). Pretty excited about IU though. Going to the ASD at the end of March? I'm trying to get a plane ticket as we speak.

IU Timeline?

Just wondering if you have an IU timeline on their scholarship as well. Mine is April 1st, but I plan to call for a small extension. Not sure if I plan to make my law school decision in the next two weeks (I got my decision the past few days), or if I can even make it out to Bloomington before then. I don't plan to hang them up or anything, but I really do need an extra week or two. Again, good luck at Michigan. Northwestern hasn't even contacted me. They are just like a girl way out of my league. No mention of my application, it complete, or anything. I am non-existent to them. Not that I expect to be expected, but I would be much happier if they told me I'm denied now as opposed to accepted in 3 months.

IU v. UIUC
Sunday, February 15 2009 at 07:00 PM

I know. Illy has kind of been targeted school for over a year, so it's difficult to get past. And to be fair I haven't actually seen any of these places. This weekend should sort out the difference between what I think the schools are and what they actually are. (I'm sure there isn't always sunny weather at UIUC!) I'm still going through the possibilities of this cycle, but it is looking very very likely I will be going to Indiana. This process is a real pain. (Including driving 1500 some miles starting tomorrow morning).

Thanks for the congrats. We have a lot in common - LSN wise. :) I'll be there this weekend. You?

Good luck

Good luck on Michigan, did IU give you an extension on the scholarship decision? At least you've got a great option either way.
