I deleted a lot of the extra info from this profile, but I wanted to leave it up for those in future cycles hoping to get in to top schools who don't think they quite have the numbers. It can be done. Good luck.

Additional info & updates

Fee waivers from Chicago, Columbia, and Michigan.

12/21 Accepted to Hastings via online status check :)

1/09 Georgetown online status check turned to decision
1/12 Georgetown acceptance letter arrived in the mail

1/17 University of Washington acceptance arrived in the mail

1/30 NYU acceptance arrived in manila envelope. I never got notice of going complete or anything, so this was a WONDERFUL surprise!

2/10 UCLA admit via email
2/10 Decided not to accept invite to apply for Georgetown Dean's Scholarhip

2/13 Columbia "reserve" category via snail mail

2/23 Chicago admit via email. Email mentioned a phone call from the admissions office, but I never got one.

3/9 Email from Harvard requesting time I am available to talk to Toby!
3/9 Boalt Rejection via snail mail. My first, it had to happen some time. I moved to CA to get residency for Boalt. I really would have considered them over every school but Stanford. :( Oh well, the Harvard email takes the sting out of it.

3/10 Had "the call" with Toby

3/15 Toby voicemail welcoming me to the class of '09

3/21 STANFORD!!! STANFORD!!! STANFORD!!!

3/27 Withdrew from every school but Stanford, Harvard and Yale. If Stanford's admit weekend goes as well as I think it will, I will be withdrawing my apps from Havard and Yale soon after.

4/24 Yale waitlist brings this cylce to a close. Withdrawing from Harvard and Yale, sending in deposit to Stanford.

I am so happy for you and maybe I will see you at Stanford in the fall! Have you made a decision yet?

I'd be happy to email or PM you about my thesis if you send me your info, but I don't really want to get that specific in this public forum.

Thanks

for the tip! I'll just take that silly rumor off my profile. Also, I think living in PA would be much better. I have already lived in SF for a long time and boyfriend wants to return. Thus the back-and-forth. Looking forward to meeting you.

Thanks
