hello. i think john marshall is an average school in that area. my buddy is attending it now. however, it is graded on a bell curve, so watch out. i dont really know too much about it though. ia m going to visit my schools in 2 months. you should go to a Borders or Barns and Noble and read up on some of the books they have about law schools. they will give you a full profile of the school. best of luck. and u of m does have a nice campus. when did your gf go there?
i am sure my friend who currently attends there would be willing to answer your questions. would you be interested? i can contact him and give him your email.
let me talk to him and i will give you his email. i graduated in 2006 too. small world. what was her name?
my friends email is bfisniku@gmail.com. let me know how it goes
I saw one of your post inquiring about JMLS. I know some people who attended and have jobs. A large majority of the students must pass the bar first being employed, don't expect a large firm job w/out being top of your class, expect to stay in Chicago, and I know a lot of local folks that opened up their own practice pretty soon after graduating.
a lot of JMLS students in Chicago become public defenders. I was considering applying before, so I looked into people's opinions / feedback. Also there was a Crain's article, titled "going at it along" (search for article on their website) which featured local solo practitioner, most graduated from JMLS.
Thanks for the well wishes. Congratulations to you, as well. Regarding JMLS: it is difficult to really evaluate the school without having attended. It depends on what you are looking for. The four schools that I applied to grade on bell curves, produce public defenders, state's attorneys, great alumni networks, etc. My husband is a 2L at Chicago-Kent, and the best advice that he has given me is to really evaluate the clinical programs, core classes (for example, Kent has a required 4 semester legal writing program), technology/resources, and specific certificate programs that interest me. I have visited all of the schools that I applied to, and I currently live in Chicago. From what I have observed (I work in a law firm and from my husband's law school experience), JMLS is well respected and is in a great location. Attending law school in the city with the largest unified court system in the world can't be beat. Having your choice of law school is such a wonderful position to be in, and I have no doubt that you will be pleased with whatever school you choose. Best of luck to you.
they are assholes. i called twice and they were very rude. when i hear something i will let you know. 6 months is far too long to wait. what are they doing?
Hey, They sent me an email about it. First they sent me one asking if I wanted to remain on the wait list. And then the next day they sent me an offer of admissions via email. Good Luck!
