Additional info & updates

I took the LSAT for the first time during my Senior year at PC and got a 147. I didn't really prepare all that much because I didn't know if Law School was what I wanted.

After working at a firm, I realized this WAS what I wanted. I decided to take a Kaplan course, which didn't seem to help at all, and I pulled a 146. I was then shutout by Touro, Hofstra, CUNY Queens, and St. John's for admission in Fall '06.

I then digested two PowerScore books (Games and Logical Reasoning) and shocked even myself with a 161. Now the tables have turned as you can see for yourself.

4/20...I just found out the St. John's is providing me with 10k per year. They initially didn't provide me with an offer, so I decided to write a letter to the Asst. Dean of Admissions. I included my two offers from Hofstra and Touro, and he responded rather quickly. I recommend not 'settling' for the first offer....many schools have the money to burn.

I received the scholarship with my acceptance. In talking with the admissions people this is the only time scholarships are offered. The only thing I can think of is that I had my stuff in much earlier than you.

Does this mean that I will be seeing you at St. Johns next year?

Will you be attending St. John's. I actually met Dean Harrison while visiting the school (he gave me a personal tour) and he was awesome. congrats on the scholarship - persistence obviously pays off!

did you simply include photo copies of your offers and explain that you wanted to go to st john's but were just torn because of the scholarship offers?
