My top is definitely U of Houston but that one is a big reach for me so right now it's between LSU and Howard. What's your top?

I like UK because of the ranking but will still consider Depaul, Howard and LSU. Im also not sure about the Kentucky job market and transition of lifestyle.

Congrats

on the acceptances and overall cycle! I also applied to Howard and was wondering how you were informed about your acceptance there, i.e., email first, snail mail, etc.

I was informed by email first and later by snail mail. I get the notion that schools are waiting for the first deposit date to expire before they send out anymore acceptances. Lets keep our fingers crossed.

UK

Good luck with Kentucky. I toured the campus and the city and hated it! I got a scholly there but I couldn't come to grips with being miserable for 3 years. Plus even without the money, the opportunities at Howard are so much better than those from UK, and this is what I was hearing from the students who were telling me to stay away. If you can handle the lily white town and school then go for it!! But as for me, I crave diversity so ....I bolted!! lol I know for a fact that the job opportunities are better coming out of Howard than UK, especially if you're not sure where you want to practice. From the trend I noticed, UK students are MOSTLY only employed regionally but I do know someone who came out and landed a very high paying salary from a NY firm so I guess it just depends. But as far as the # of OCI's is concerned, Howard knocks UK out of the water and they also have a higher average starting salary. This is also coming from someone who has no undergrad debt so the prospect of getting a little from law school isn't really that big of a deal. Sorry if I sound like a downer....I just wanted you to see all sides. Feel free to email me if you have any questions. I also have a couple of email addresses from some of the kids at UK, I'm sure they wouldn't mind me passing them along.

I thought about that as well. Although Howard has alot of employers that interview on campus, how many students actually get hired.I keep getting mixed answers when I ask this question. I agree about the diversity levels at UK but I didn't attend an HBCU and dont think the transition would be that tough.

Either way

I wish you the best of luck wherever you end up!! Congrats on a great cycle!! I'm sure you're glad it's pretty much over....I know I am!! lol

Not entirely sure yet. I sent in a deposit to UK but I am waiting to see if Tennessee can offer any $$

I visited Kentucky a few times because my undergrad is fairly close to it. I liked the school a lot (Good faculty, students, and placement). Given those two options, Kentucky is the clear cut choice. It dominates their market, and the Alumni base is amazing. You cannot go wrong with Kentucky.

I'm reconsidering my decision, I would like to stay in Houston but I'm having a hard time turning down Kentucky.

Hey I notice we are equal in just about every metric. I am an accounting major and graduated with a 2.99. I am taking my lsat in september and testing right around where you are. What set you apart from everyone else? I mean, with our GPA, I didnt think UK was possible?
