Additional info & updates

Georgetown letter came in a small, white envelope. Invited to apply for full tuition Dean's Scholarship **UPDATE** I did not get the scholarship. Tease!

George Mason called me at work **UPDATE** GMU has offered $12k for yr one, and $5k for yrs 2 and 3.

University of Maryland came in a large 8.5 x 11, white envelope with a big "Congratulations!" on the outside. I never got a notice from them that my application was complete.

George Washington sent me an email, saying a letter would follow. I also never got a notice from them saying my application was complete. **UPDATE** GWU offered $20k per year.

UPenn sent me an email...I actually did not do the optional Why Penn? essay, although I did talk about that a little in my PS. I was chosen as an alternate for the Public Interest Scholarhip Program (although I don't think I have much of a chance of getting it now. They take about 4 per year for the scholarship and identify about 30 alternates).

Yale -- I knew I was toast when I got a thin letter before a phone call

Harvard -- I knew I wasn't in when I saw the small envelope instead of a nice big one. :)

MD money?

Hey, I was wondering if you'd had any kind of scholarship offer from Maryland. You have great numbers, so I figure you'd get an offer sooner rather than later. I'm an in-state guy and am considering them, but really want them to throw me a bone.

MD?

Actually I haven't heard anything from Maryland about a scholarships. I have been trying to decide whether to call them to ask or not since I am leaning strongly towards GW otherwise.

Here's hoping

Thanks for the update! I emailed and never heard anything back. Not the first time, either. MD money would be great. So far, my top choices are NOT loving me up with cash.

Did you get a letter from MD about interviewing in April? I just wanted to see what kind of applicants also got a similiar letter.

Congrats!

Don't know if you're still reading this page... You followed the scholarship money, too. Good on you. Be seeing you at orientation. -Mike, mreleph@mrbb.org
