Additional info & updates

3/12/07 - Waitlisted at UCLA. That's ridiculous. Withdrew immediately. Also put on hold at Columbia. That's not ridiculous. In fact, I'm just glad it wasn't an outright rejection! Will remain on list. Letter said it would be reconsidered starting early June. I guess I won't know where I'm going for sure for a couple of months still!

3/9/07 - Rejection from Harvard. Not all that suprising, but disappointing nonetheless.

3/5/07 - Waitlisted at UVa via letter from Jason Trujillo. Will remain on waitlist to keep options open.

3/1/07 - Received email from UVa letting me know that my status changed. I logged in and it said that a decision was made today. We shall wait and see...

3/1/07 - Received letter from U Chicago placing my file in the "Hold" category. It gave the option of sending an additional letter of recommendation, an updated transcript, and a 2-3 page essay on one of 3 given topics. It does not mention a waitlist but does mention a second review to occur after March 23 (when it says to have all supplemental materials submitted) so I'm treating it as a deferral and not a waitlinst.

2/5/07 - Received acceptance letter dated Jan. 30 from Michigan. Small handwritten note from Dean Zearfoss.

2/2/07 - Finally complete at Columbia. Somehow my Dean's Certification never made it there, so I had to mail a new one. That's why there is almost a 2 month gap from the time my app was received and when it went complete today.

1/31/07 - Status checker at UMich changed to decision

1/09/07 - Email from Northwestern

12/22/06 - Duke letter arrived 12-22-06. Got into JD/LLM program in international and comparative law.

12/19/06 - Received email from Duke saying response had been mailed.

I'd rather get accepted into your Michigan than have a full ride scholarship at mine.

Thanks a lot for the info about UPenn! We had similar numbers. Good luck with Harvard and Columbia.

We're practically #s twins - congrats on Michigan, and sorry about HLS (I'm expecting my own rejection letter in the next few weeks...:P). Are you sending in additional materials for Chicago? Good luck to you on the rest of the cycle!

UCLA

Huh? Waitlisted at UCLA? I'm fairly convinced that most of the decision process is based on a magic 8 ball. If you had to pick a frontrunner today, who would it be?
