I'm hoping that Harvard saw something in our apps that it liked and won't just look to pad its LSAT and GPA numbers later in the cycle. So many stellar scores on the deferral list. Did you send them anything after the deferral? Good luck numbers twin :)

I only sent in a Why Harvard essay. I've been out of school for almost three years, so no new transcripts, and I didn't think another LOR would be a home run or anything. We seem to be in the same boat re UVA and NYU. I think we've been effectively deferred, though I haven't heard anything official from either of them. Congrats on Chicago, I wish I had gotten that phone call.

I didn't apply ED anywhere because I procrastinated too much... I didn't even start working on my apps til I got my sept lsat score. But really, I didn't even realize how much I loved Chicago til I visited there in January--after my app was already submitted. I'm glad to have a chance to prove myself to them, and I feel somewhat optimistic.

I wanted to give people an actual list of my preferences, and I would go to Yale before Chicago or Columbia. Also, when did you hear about Chicago's $$ offer? I really think getting money from them would seal my affection for Chicago over Columbia, but I haven't heard anything (although I haven't been getting mail this last week, long story). I have been/will be visiting lots of schools this week. I am stressing out quite a bit over this decision and have no decided yet. So far it's probably between hastings, davis and bc. Hopefully ucla or harvard will admit me soon so i don't have to make this decision lol. How is your decision coming? Sounds like you're leaning toward chicago. That would be an amazing school to be at. Oh and how is your spring break coming? Doing anything special?

I'm definitely sending in additional materials. I'm debating on the essay though because I'm afraid that my political biases will come through both of them and do more harm than good, but we'll see. I am sending an updated transcript and another letter of recommendation from my professor that's working on my capstone paper with me. Congrats on the scholarship. Well, I'm jealous of your Chicago acceptance. You have no idea how happy I'd be to get a Chicago or NYU (esp. NYU) acceptance this weekend.

I'm still holding out for SU and U of Hawaii. I'll be at the SLU ASW on the 23rd and the 24th, visiting SU on the 26th, and visiting Willamette on the 29th. Hopefully, after I visit those schools, it'll become a lot clearer on which one I want to go to.

The Yale e-mail, in my opinion, is a good sign. Another friend of mine, with outstanding stats, got the same e-mail. I'm under the impression that they are giving your application further consideration. At least it's not an outright rejection.

Too bad about Harvard, I was rooting for you! Good luck in Chicago, but I hope you don't rule out NYU.

That's a pretty strong word. Especially considering the bucks that GULC just threw my way. GULC has a stronger IP program than Mich (by leaps and bounds, really).
