re: getting my apps off
Saturday, September 17 2005 at 08:00 PM

i'm trying to do just that. i'm getting ready for finals now though. it's been rough the last couple months. i'm behind in everything and finals are here. hopefully, most of my apps will be off by 12/15.

quick question
Friday, September 09 2005 at 08:00 PM

u said u applied late last year and didn't do as well. When did you apply? I just took the LSAT and so my apps are going to later than the early people, am I in trouble?? Good luck with yuor apps.

quick answer
Monday, November 14 2005 at 07:00 PM

I applied around January 10th. The bigger problem was that my boss submitted her recommendation for me after the deadline (even though I gave it to her in mid-Dec). My applications were not complete until after the deadline. It was a nightmare. I think it's safe to say things are looking a lot better this time around.

Congrats

On G-Town and good luck at the rest!

complete at pepperdine

Did Pepperdine actually notify you that you are complete, or is that just when you know they got everything?

Pepperdine

I actually called all the schools that hadn't notified me by email or snail mail yesterday to verify that my files had gone complete. That's how I found out with Pepperdine. They were very nice about it. Just say you want to check on the status of your application.

Please!!

I sent in the first deposit. I went to the first Admitted Student Day and enjoyed myself. I need a little bit more time to choose the best school.

I am not even trying to answer that. I'm hoping that was a joke.

LSAT!!

Congrats on your acceptances. May I ask, what tools did you use to prepare for the LSAT?

In all honesty, I used Testmasters to prepare and I truly think it's the best test prep available. However, you also have to be ready to put in the hours and do the work or else you are wasting your time and money. I also think it's important that your instructor teaches in a fashion that works for you. I took the course twice. The second time around, my instructor was a previous Testmaster student and I did very well under him. I also took additional tutoring hours under him. Are you in VA right now?

Also, this is my second cycle of apllications. I applied last cycle, so anything I can do to help you out. Please let me know. I found that applying early on in the process is key- especially for minorities, cause everyone is on CP time, so you'll stand out as one of the few who applied early. I'd love to share any additional advice with you. Ask away!

Yes I am

in VA right now. I live in Alexandria, VA. It's a Washington, DC suburb. Geesh everyone is saying Testmasters so Testmasters it is. I have sone additional questions if you don't mind. By how many points did your score increase between the initial diagnostic and your LSAT score? I totally understand if you don't want to tell me your actual scores. :) Also, how many hours did you put in outside of class and over how many months did you study? Did you purchase any additional non-Testmaster's books? :) Sorry for all the questions. Oh yeah, and I'm going to take the September 30, 2006 LSAT. Do you think that I would be considered an "early" applicant?

I checked black on some and hispanic/PR on others. I think what's important is that you submit a diversity statement with each application (even if it is not required) explaining your unique ethnic background and how it has influenced your life.
