Additional info & updates

11/26/08: Accepted at BU.

12/1/08: Invitation to interview at Georgetown. My numbers are borderline for Georgetown, so I'm not surprised. I responded that I would be happy to interview, and I was told that it might take a long time to hear back from the alumn, so we'll see...

12/6/08: Accepted at Cornell.

12/12/08: Accepted at USC. My thoughts at this point are that it's a relief to be getting some good news early on because I expect January and February to be brutal.

12/16/08: Accepted at UCLA. I sounded like a bumbling idiot on the phone with the dean, but what can you do...

12/19/08: Accepted at UC Davis.

12/29/08: Offered scholarship at BU ($15k/3 years, assuming I stay in good academic standing). Any money is good money!

12/30/08: Finally heard from the GULC alumnus who is supposed to do the interview. I've been considering withdrawing from Georgetown because I don't think I would take it over Cornell and UCLA, so I can't decide whether it's even worth it to interview. Feel free to weigh in.

1/7/09: I had the Georgetown interview. Suffice to say I'm not expecting much.

1/13/09: Put on hold at Northwestern.

1/17/09: Accepted at USF.

1/22/09: Random musing... For better or worse, I'm so ready to have this process come to an end. Anybody with me?... As some sort of sick joke for having me post this wish, I ended the day by getting an email saying that I was sent to faculty review today at Berkeley. I gave up hope on this application months ago, though, so I am oddly relieved to be deferred, even though I know that chances of anything coming of it are slim.

2/4/09: Received email from Duke requesting that I interview on campus. That's not really feasible, nor would I choose Duke over my other options. I'll probably withdraw soon, or at least decline the interview offer.

2/5/09: Placed on preferred waitlist at Georgetown. I won't be staying on.

2/14/09: Accepted at UC Hastings.

2/20/09: Received an email from Berkeley saying that my application was being held for further review, and that I would receive my final decision by March 18.

2/23/09: Got back from a trip to find that USC is offering me $20k/year.

2/26/09: Waitlisted at Michigan.

3/6/09: Placed on Priority Reserve List at Duke.

3/19/09: Waitlisted at Berkeley. Withdrew from Davis. Emailed UCLA asking to be considered for scholarship $. I shamelessly flaunted my USC offer, and am hoping something pans out.

3/20/09: Got a $15k scholarship from UCLA. To clarify, that $15k is not per year, but, rather, is for all 3 years.

4/6/09: Sent in first deposit for UCLA. I've decided to end up there barring some wait list action at Berkeley.

Interview

I'm sure your Georgetown interview will go just as smoothly, so don't worry about it. Yea, I have a lot of apps out there, but I was only planning on applying to 13 (still a lot), and then when I got some fee waivers I added a few to the list. I'm just throwing everything at the wall to see what sticks. And, an aside, I'm pretty 95% of the people that took the LSAT wouldn't call your 167 "low," haha. Good luck!

You rock!!!

On Cornell. That's a great school and I grew up in upstate NY (even further North actually) The weather's not as bad as people make it out to be :) Also good luck with your Georgetown Interview. I had one a couple weeks ago and it was a great experience. Definitely increased my interest in the school. Good luck with the rest of your cycle. I've added you to my watchlist since our numbers are very similar :)

I didn't mean for you to change it, sorry if it came across like that. I'd call people like us "borderline," haha. Anyway, I was kidding around. Congrats on Cornell, I've got the status change thing people are talking about on TLS, but I'm waiting for the actual letter before I update LSN :-)

Thanks

for the GULC congrats, but more importantly, for recognizing the clueless reference, haha. I'm sure your interview will go equally well, keep me posted, and good luck!

Congrats!!!

DO THE INTERVIEW

You want to have as many options as you can have. If I were in your shoes I would definately do it. So what if you don't end up going...at least you had the option. Good luck and you'll do fine.

Haha, well when you apply to every school, you're bound to hear from them frequently. Thanks for the note, I hope things keep rolling, but now I basically am waiting on top 10 schools that have had my application for a while, so I suspect my luck may start to fade. You should definitely do the interview with GULC. My advice is to set up a time with the person and do it, as it's good experience. I went in with some info about the school memorized, and then asked some solid questions at the end, like favorite GULC experience and how the economy will play out for aspiring lawyers like us. Good luck with everything, I'm rooting for you (and us)!

from your GULC interview. Good luck. Also, what's the deal with waiting so long for decisions? We've been complete at these places for months. Such is life, I suppose.

Good Luck!

I hope the interview went well. Even if it didn't, who cares?!?! Just another life experience you will have to talk about! I am hoping to get into Georgetown!!! I'll take your spot if you don't want it lol (too bad I'm still a few years away!) Good Luck wherever you go!

Congrats!
