Great LORS, 3.8 in major. Hoping the upward trend will work some magic.

Few soft factors - too busy with work to even try.

Additional info & updates

12-24-05
Large white envelope from Hofstra, accepted to PT Eve.

01-11-06
Called to check on the status of my application at Brooklyn, and was told I was rejected. I expected this from most of my schools, but really though I had a good chance here. Sent an e-mail and third letter of recommendation asking to be moved to waitlist for further consideration.

01-26-06
Cardozo rejection - small off-white envelope.

I check my mail like crazy - could I please get some more good news?

02-06-06
Florida Coastal with 12k renewable if in top 1/3. Hadn't really considered it, but so inexpensive compared to NYLS and Hofstra.

02-07-06
Rejection letter from Fordham. Thin envelope leaving no doubt to it's contents - although it was one of the nicest rejection letters I've ever seen.

I don't think the community college scenario will hurt you in the least bit: it's ancient history. . .

I hope not, but it hurts. I was not prepared my first few years of UG, and couldn't balance my work and school obligations. Being that I'll have to continue working while in LS, I hope it helps that I've found balance. Thanks for the kind words, and good luck!

What happened when you sent that e-mail and third letter of recommendation to Brooklyn? Did they respond? GOODLUCK TO YOU!

Brooklyn sent me the official rejection letter a few days after the phone call. Was kinda harsh - not just a rejection, but that the admissions staff fimly believed that even with additional info, a different decision would not be made, hence no need to waitlist. I got 2 e-mails today from BLS stating I could retake the LSAT and be reconsidered, and also requesting the name of the person that I spoke to. Haven't responded as of yet - i feel like they are more concerned with PR over helping me out. I was also told I could appeal the rejection, but that an acceptance wasn't likely. I sent the third rec anyway, but without another LSAT score I don't see any change occuring. Stressedwithapps and catsmeow - good luck to both of you! If there is any change with BLS, I'll let you two know.

Thank you. So far I am leaning towards Seton Hall. I am still pending at american and brooklyn. I received an offer from a DC IP firm for a student associate position. They will will pay for my law school, so I'm really hoping american or the the catholic waitlist pans out favorably. I'm reluctant to accept the offer until I know if I can get into one of the DC schools. I will try to get a position at a NY IP firm if I end up choosing seton hall. A friend of mine told me it might be easier to have a good GPA at hofstra because they don't have mandatory failures. They probably curve to a "B" like most law schools. I think grading policy depends on the class and professor rather than the school itself. I really prefer seton hall's location over hofstra's.

thank you for your good luck wishes. i think that whole thing with them rejecting you over the phone is pretty damn unprofessional. but whatever. you did what you can do, and things work out for a reason -- good luck with the rest of it :) and maybe i'll see you at hofstra or nyls

If I decide to stay around the area, the only schools that I may choose ahead of Seton Hall are Brooklyn (which, I'm not getting into) and Rutgers (cuz it's cheaper). Newayz, good luck!

Congrats. I'm hoping to hear from them soon...I applied end of November...makes me kind of nervous that you've heard already and sent your application in after mine. :( Do you think you will go there? Also, not that you couldn't have done it otherwise, but are you a URM by any chance?

Congrats again. I'm hiding my #s because I've heard some stories about admissions committees using these sites to make decisions...they connect people's profiles to their applications to assist them with yield protection, etc. It's probably not true, but I'm paranoid. :)
