Additional info & updates

Scholarships are annual

Oct.
Must maintain top 1/3 at Alabama to maintain.

Nov 2.
First person to get a decision at Notre Dame....waitlisted, fml. Looks like everyone with good numbers who applied before the EA deadline as regular decision applicants were waitlisted. I chose not to apply EA because you have to pay a deposit by January and I want to hear back from everywhere I applied.

Nov 10.
In at UGA, awesome!!!

Dec 3.
In at Illinois, 1 of 2 people in the first batch to NOT get a scholarship. fml. Hopefully I get some money later in the cycle as others withdraw.

Dec 7.
Small thin envelope from W&L, thought it was a rejection until I opened it! Of all the schools I am accepted at so far W&L is probably my top choice.

Dec 8.
I have the dreaded decision pending (i.e. i'm not good enough to be accepted now) at W&M! Guess I'll have to wait until March for a decision there.

Dec 11.
Decision rendered at Cornell, backdated to 12/8. It's a rejection, possibly a deferral, since accepted students are now getting a link to some message board...FML

Called once the office opened...rejected...ouch...at least the first of many is over!

Dec 16.
Rejected at UVA, about as upset as I would be if I didn't win the lottery. Can I get some good news before Christmas???

Dec 18.
Decided to apply to Philly schools as my wife has family near there. Hate to just give U Penn my money, but at least Villanova and Temple gave me waivers upon request.

Dec 21.
In at Indiana! Scholarship is dependent on maintaining a passing grade, awesome.

Dec 23.
Waitlisted at Wisconsin.......really?

Realized it had this gem in the letter underlined, "If you have a special interest in attending the Law School, we encourage you to send us a letter or e-mail in which you speak specifically to that interest and the likelihood that you would enroll if admitted ". Maybe they are YP us southern applicants.

Dec 24.
So far I have made two mistakes that I think have bitten me in the ass. I had to get W&M to renew my fee waiver because I didn't turn it in by their deadline, outcome, decision pending when i should probably be in already.
Second, I forgot something for my U of Wisconsin app and they had to email me so I could turn it in, outcome, waitlisted.

Dec 31. In at OSU, in state tuition due to veteran status.

Jan 8.
Decision rendered 1/7 at Vanderbilt. Haven't confirmed it, but I'm certain it is a waitlist. This is pretty much a soft rejection as it looks like Vandy is more likely to waitlist than deny someone.

Jan 11.
Waitlist at Vandy confirmed.

Jan 12.
Scholarship at Wake, it is currently my top choice. I am happy with what they gave me but of course one always wants more. I will probably negotiate with them once I get more offers.

Jan 15.
In at Iowa by email, beautiful area for my family to spend the next three years, highly interested if the money is right.

Feb 4.
Rejected at Duke via email, was prepared for it from day 1 so no biggie. Resident tuition equalization thing at UGA for 1 year then most get residency anyway.

Feb 8.
Accepted to Temple via email, awesome.

Feb 10.
Hold on to your pants, in at UNC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Feb 12.
Diversity scholarship at Ohio with only 2.0 requirement, cool. Means a free ride since all vets get in state tuition and va was already paying the other half!

I remember reading about your LSAT score increase on TLS and thought to myself how great it would be to have that score. Needless to say, I nailed it. GL!

thanks

Congrats on UGA, what's your #1 school?

UNC. Can't beat the state tuition. Also I plan to stay in NC. Let's collect those acceptances!

Excellent

Congrats on all of the acceptances so far! We have a good bit of overlap in schools, I'm hoping to hear something positive back from someone soon!! Good luck with the rest of your cycle!

A ton of people who would have been expected to get into Cornell EA didn't this cycle, their apps must have been way up. It's ok though, you've still got some great schools in your back pocket and more to come I'm sure. The first rejection stings though =/

WTF Wisconsin?

Apparently you're overqualified...

UNC is definitely my first choice, but campbell's scholarship makes tuition pretty comparable. Right now I have no idea where I'll end up. I didn't get accepted in the first wave from Wake, but I hope they'll squeeze me in somewhere down the line. I'd love to have a tough choice to make. Thanks for the encouragement

congrats on WF to you as well! They definitely just lurched ahead in my choices as well.

Huge congrats on the UNC acceptance. Here's the deal, tell them they have to accept me or you won't attend. Sound fair?
