Congrats on USD, that's great. How did they notify you and did you apply FT or PT?
Did your status checker change?
Mill has been like a saint to me during this damn process. Think you'll end up at USD or are you waiting to hear from others>
USD and Santa Clara are def pretty comparable. In terms of USD placement in firms, I know that 1 out 4 lawyers in SD graduated from there. It definitely owns SD and I would say, Orange County too. LA gets tougher b/c it competes with USC, UCLA, etc. In terms of Santa Clara, its pretty close to SF, maybe an hour but the location of the school itself is not all that great. I have no clue about their placement. What kind of law are you interested in? I am sure that makes a difference. I am partial to USD though :)
Good luck with ASU, it was my top choice as well. If I don't hear from USD real soon I'm going to retake the LSAT and apply ED for ASU next cycle..
Well I hope ASU comes through for you if that's your number one! The games definitely not over yet... Oddly enough the garage thing was a priority for me too and its not hard finding stuff. I am going to be living in Mission Valley...really close to USD and pretty much a central area to everything in SD. Look up Arcadia Apartments, Monte Vista Apts and Archstone Apts...they all have option's to have a garage. Outside of Mission Valley as far as apt's go I am not too informed...
Nope...no Arizona schools for me. I decided that GW's IP program will be great for me. Also, ASU never sent me a financial aid award package and they really didn't have their act together. Good luck!
The money is just for the first year...I have heard of them raising the money as people withdraw who were offered scholly's so hopefully that will be the case. No word on AZ yet?
I don't really communicate with anyone else who is potentially going to USD from this site. Do you? I was thinking about starting a Facebook group for people who are attending in the Fall. Something else law school related that can distract me from my job :) That's great about your scholarship! Congrats! Did you happen to see the new USNWR rankings..USD moved up 21 places to #61.
I will wear the good times captured on Facebook proudly...as long as its technically legal :) So out of curiousity, why ASU? I don't know anything about the school at all. Do you live in AZ?
Well congratulations that's awesome! USD was my first choice so I understand the excitement... a visit couldn't hurt though, you never know and then you will be sure you explored all the options.
Congrats on ASU. We have similar numbers. How did you hear from them?
Congrats! There was no withdrawing for me :0) Both my fiance and I will be there in fall. I am a Phoenix native (just moved back this week) so if you have any questions, please let me know.
Congrats on ASU and USD. Is that scholarship $ making you change your mind towards USD a all?
If you've decided on ASU/USD, could you from UNLV's wait list? :)
Thanks! :) have fun at ASU!!!
Thanks for the post. I agree with you 100% about GW...it did feel very classy/top notch...it's just so damn expensive. I'm from Arizona and I know I want to go back to practice, which is why I'm struggling with the decision between ASU and GW! Looks like it'll be a last minute decision. Good luck!
