Additional info & updates

Feb 16, 2009: Checked Cornell's status this morning and it reads:
"Decision - The Admissions Committee has reached decision on your application file and you will receive a written decision soon. Please be patient with the postal system. Please wait for 10 to 14 days to receive your written decision before contacting the Admissions Office."

Oh Boy - Nervous times even though I'm expecting a DING

Feb 10, 2009: At 5:00 am Central Time (time stamp in my email), I received a complete email from Cornell. I guess I'll be receiving something anytime from now. Whichever way it is, I'll be on the look out!!!

Feb 9, 2009: So I was a little idle this morning and decided to check my Duke Law application status - and it says: "Your application was complete on Feb 06, 2009 and is under review. A decision has not yet been made."

Oh boy !!!

Feb 5: So I received an email this morning from BC. The title was "Financial Aid and BC Law". I almost collapsed only to quickly gather myself that it probably meant nothing. And i was right. The body of the email said "We have been notified that your application for admission to Boston College Law School is now complete." I misread initially to mean that "We have been notified that your admission to Boston College Law School".

BC, Why you do me so? Why? Why? Why?

I'm hoping for the real deal soon... :-/

Feb 4: This lull is killing me. I am about losing my mind. I frantically check the status updates and I'm literally stalking my my postal delivery man. He probably thinks I'm crazy now.

P.S. Wrote an email to Northeastern asking for the status of my application to which I received a response that it is currently in review and should be hearing back within a month...I'm so nervous. I love Northeastern and their public interest focus.

Feb 4: Application complete email from NYU and Boston College. I will be very happy going to either. Pls pls pls...let me in

Jan 24: So, I came back from my 3 week overseas trip on President's Obama Inauguration day. I was in early enough to catch some of the festivities.
I am tired of this lull. I havent heard anything from anyone. I am a patient person but these schools are testing my patience. I want to hear something...pls pls pls

Jan 13: So I decided to apply to a few more schools namely Fordham and UT

Jan 13: Currently somewhere in West Africa. Got here Jan 1, and will be here till the 19th. I havent heard a thing yet except that I am complete at Northeastern. I have received some emails and I can't wait to get back to the U.S. so that I can finish up my apps.

P.S. It is so hot around here.

Dec 18: Sent Penn, Harvard and BC.... Going overseas in about 2 weeks. I cant wait.. yaaay

Dec 6: Took the LSAT today. I feel much better. Keeping my fingers crossed..

Dec 4: Sent application to Northeastern and BU. LSAC is waiting for my December score before report is sent.

Nov 18: BU Fee Waiver. I'm so happy

when i took it I sequestered myself for three weeks before the test (but that\'s hard to do when you have a job, I\'m guessing). i got rid of the t.v. and spent 3hrs a day going through one test at a time. more than anything though, DON\'T LISTEN to anyone else on test day - they\'re just going to freak you out. good luck!

I did the opposite of Koopa. I studied hardcore from March until late August. I couldn\'t break the 169 barrier, however, so I took a week-and-a-half break and did nothing LSAT related. When I came back to the test, I never dipped below 172. I again studied hardcore until two days before the test when I stopped all things LSAT related. The morning of the test, I looked over some stuff, ate breakfast, and took it. I got lucky and got my highest score on the real thing (my highest score in practice was a 177, hit only once). You really get out what you put in. Work as hard as you can. If you do that, you\'ll be able to confidently tell yourself that there is no reason to be nervous because you did everything you could and you\'re going to do how you\'re going to do.

Take as many practice tests as possible! They really helped me get into a sort of \"LSAT Zone.\" And definitely try to figure out your mistakes after you take a practice test. You\'ll start to see what mistakes you typically make and can correct them. Other than that, just try to go into the test feeling energized yet relaxed at the same time. If you get into \"the zone\" you can let go of all those nervous feelings. Good luck!

howd it go?

I'm waiting to hear from Yale and Stanford. If I somehow get in to one or both of those, I'll have to visit them before I decide where I'll go. But assuming I do not get into either (which I expect will be the case), I will most likely end up at HLS (although I'd have to seriously consider any scholarship offers from Michigan or Columbia).

My first choice is Harvard, I love Boston. Thanks for the encouraging message! Best of luck in your cycle.
