12/18: Received an email from Berkeley stating that I have "passed an initial administrative review and has been selected for further consideration by the Faculty Admissions Committee." They make it sound like a good thing.
12/18: In at USC! Notified by mail.
12/23: In at NYU!!! Notified by mail.
1/8: In at Chicago!! Phone call.
1/19: Rejected at Stanford. Shocker.
1/26: In at Columbia!!!! Notified by mail. No fall grade request.
2/7: Received scholarship offer via mail from USC - $35000/yr for 3 yrs.
2/13: Received scholarship offer via mail from Chicago - $33000 total guaranteed over 3 yrs.
2/19: Rejected at Berkeley from Faculty Admissions Committee via status checker. Sort of a bummer, but Columbia/NYU/Chicago have been my top choices for a while. Note: My PS was not tailored to Boalt.
3/18: Received scholarship offer from Duke for $66,000 total over three years.
3/25: Received scholarship offer from NYU: $10,000 for the first and second years, and $5,000 for the third.
4/6: Received fin aid package from Columbia - nothing in grants. Pretty disappointed.
4/7: Emailed Columbia w my other offers and asked them to reconsider my fin pacakage.
4/9: Columbia reconsidered: they're giving me $25,000! Sign me up!
4/14: Waitlisted by Harvard via email.

Hah, I guess Columbia liked you better, I only heard today. They made me send in fall grades and everything. Now Harvard, wouldn't that be a lark?

As long as it doesn't imply anything that Dean Deal thinks, Berekeley can say whatever it wants. Looks like you are having a great cycle as well. Do you know where you are leaning towards?
