Additional info & updates

slowly updating everything....hopefully Dean Tom will show me some love real soon.

12/12/08 - Um, gtown finally came through. But hello, it does not take 4 days for a letter from DC to arrive anywhere on the east coast...grateful nonetheless.

2/9/09 - Feel blessed about the news I have gotten thus far. Everyday I open my mailbox, I sigh at the absence of a rejection letter. Also, I am super-duper excited about the travel subsidy from UTexas. I have never been to Austin and would love to visit!

2/17/09-I LOVE CHICAGO. That is all. (offer postmark 2/9/09, fyi)

2/19/09-Berkeley rejection. Thank you Berkeley for wasting my 87 dollars.

2/23/09-yale fail. Will the history repeat itself? Well, it already didn't. But I am calm.

3/9/09-Um, I can't log into michigan's admit website, and I just waitlisted at UVA. What was so wrong with my app?

3/10/09-So I guess no news isn't always good news. More so than with Yale, it hurts to be rejected by my favorite. :(

3/11/09-Thank you WashU. First for undergrad and now for law school, you always have my back.

3/13/09-With the Mich rejection came a 69,000 from Duke. At least 69 is divisible by 3.

3/25/09-Dean's Award? Um, it's tiny. :(

On Texas. I'm sure there's many many more to come!

Berkeley

Hey, too bad about Berkeley--they wasted my $87 too. We have similar numbers. But it looks like you are having a great cycle. Good luck with the rest of it.

Hey congrats on all the acceptances! You're very close to my numbers twin, and I'm also international/ivy, so good to see!

Yah, TS/KB don't seem to be showing us sub 3.8s much love this cycle. Hopefully March will be the month for international students with our numbers! Not visiting the NYC schools at the moment. WIll maybe try and make it to the April NYU one though(Columbia was my undergrad and I'm leaning pretty heavily towards NYU so not sure I will go to their ASW). You?

Oh and as for the not applying to many schools thing, I pretty much decided that outside of certain schools(Harvard, Columbia, NYU and Georgetown) I'd probably just stay home in England and do a masters/maybe a law degree there. Couldn't justify the money otherwise. Applied to Duke and Chicago due to fee waives tho.

Columbia v. Chicago
Wednesday, January 07 2009 at 07:00 PM

I've visited Columbia, but I'm not going to Chicago until early April. Until then, I'm not sure which one it's going to be. The Chicago money's definitely tempting, but I'm hoping that I can get Columbia to throw something my way...

Straight out rejected at UMich? Ridiculous. I guess they think you're just unlikely to attend in any given situation and they have no money to throw your way.
