Additional info & updates

5/20/09: Got phone call from Syracuse and I'm in off the WL!!

6/3/09: Got acceptance package from Billy Mitchell. Withdrew via e-mail.

I'm Syracuse bound unless I get off of Marquette's waitlist before my Syracuse deposit is due... then I'll have to visit and re-evaluate.

6/13/09: fuck it... I need to sign an apartment lease, I think Syracuse is a better fit for me, and I don't feel like waiting any longer for Marquette. I'm officially an orangeman!!

Thank you. I would have loved to attend Syracuse but financially it just doesn't make sense. Good luck to you and I hope you get in!

When did you send your application to Marquette? I sent mine near the end of March and have yet to hear back.

I understand your feeling. But if there is one thing I have learned throughout this process is that you can't base future acceptances on past rejections. I was wait listed at Quinnipiac, a T3-4, and a week later I was admitted to U of L with scholarship, a top 100 T1. I think you have to take into account where the school is at and numerous other factors, not just the numbers. The numbers are a give you a great idea, but in the end it the whole package! Good luck with Marquette and the rest of your cycle.

I think we will be hearing from them around the middle to end of June. I think the 2nd deposit is due within the first part of June, then it will take them a week or two to figure out how many seats they have. I would expect a decision by the end of June/ 1st week of July at the latest. As of right now Marquette is up there, however, if i get into Nova I would go. Same with American. It all depends on who is going to let me in off of their wait list. I have no idea of my odds or what the deal is. Do you have any idea of the odds of getting in off of a wait list at any school?

Final Decision?

Congrats on getting in at Syracuse, I see that it is your #1. Are you going to attend or wait out your wait lists?

Hey bro, Hope that the rest of your cycle went well. I am not sure if you are going to Syracuse or not, but I wanted you to know that Marquette is sending out their acceptances from their wait list. I got my letter this Saturday, the 13th. They haven't offered me money, but I am going to call and see what I can get. I hope you get your "yes" letter soon. Paul

I have till the 26th of June to send in my deposit at Marquette. I will most likely wait out the next two weeks and see what happens. Marquette is a great option and I don't want to miss the opportunity. If I don't hear from anyone else by the 25th I will send in my deposit. Syracuse is a great school! I totally agree with what you are saying with doing a joint degree program. I am going to try to do the JD/ MA in International Affairs/Relations at Marquette. I want to go JAG eventually and work DOS or DOJ dealing with international trade, so I figure a joint degree plus the gov. experience in JAG would set me on my way. GOOD LUCK with Marquette. I hope you hear from them today! Paul

Thanks for the suggestion... My ultra high LSAT and lower GPA has effectively made me a freak of nature (nobody applying last year had such wide range as I do) I'm not sure if Michigan will happen. Since I qualify for fee waivers almost everywhere, I might as well.

As of right now I am attending Marquette. I sent in my $700 seat deposit, which hurt, and I sent for my final transcripts to be sent. However, if Villanova says that they want me for their full-time program, then I will pull out from Marquette and head to Philly. Nova has a JD/LLM program I really want to do. The wait continues. Syracuse still your choice? Paul
