Additional info & updates

LSAT between 160-165, so I've got some reaches in here but I'm hoping my good WE will help get me into at least one.

12/6 - Deferred at Georgetown... knew it was a long shot so I'll take it!

12/18 - Yea, baby! BC I may very well be there next year!

12/20 - Penn deferral. HOLY COW!! I never expected this in a million years! I'm pretty sure this is just a courtesy deferral (I live and work in Philly) but I will die trying to get in anyways!

12/22 - George Mason acceptance phone call.

12/22 - Offer of $12,000 yr renewable scholarship to Pitt.

01/26 - Northwestern deferral. After over a month of not hearing anything, I guess it feels good to get SOMETHING. At least it wasn't a rejection, which I thought it would be.

02/03 - First Waitlist from Vanderbilt. I'm gettin' no love from the T20.

02/07 - Deferred at Washington U. in St. Louis. Geeez, this is getting ridiculous!

02/20 - From Deferred to Waitlisted at Georgetown (General WL, not Preferred WL). I have a feeling it's going to be a looooong summer.

02/21 - Boston University acceptance phone call. Woo-whoo...finally some definite good news! If it comes down to BC and BU, which one should I choose? Advice appreciated.

02/23 - Waitlisted at Emory. Don't really care. I'm going to withdraw, considering I'd rather be in Boston anyway.

03/22 - Waitlisted at W&L. Although it's always nice to be wanted, withdrew for the same reason as Emory. Curious though, why did they send me a fee waiver asking me to apply?

03/23 - $10,000 a yr renewable "scholarship" to BU (but no merit $). Also found out I got $9,500 a yr in merit money at BC, so this evens out my BU/BC decision in terms of money.,

04/06 - Waitlisted at Penn after being deferred. Pretty crushed.

04/09 and 04/10 - Visited BU and BC. I choose BU for its location and feel. BC felt very much like my undergraduate experience with its suburban setting. Also, BC seemed to practice a softer form of the Socratic method, which I believe is an important part of law school and further gave me the feel of undergrad.

04/11 - WTF? GW strings me along for almost 6 MONTHS and then not even a waitlist? Considering my other waitlists, I was pretty shocked that I got flat-out rejected. I think they are trying to raise their LSAT range this year. Oh well, looks like it will be BU next year.

05/06 - I'm deciding to withdraw from ND. I just can't see myself giving up Boston to live in South Bend.

05/16 - From deferred in January to waitlisted at Northwestern. I'm on the "shortened summer waitlist" (whatever that means). I'm staying on this one.

08/30 - No waitlists came through so BU it is! (I preferred BU's location to BC's.)

ED at two places?

That is unethical and violative of schools' policies.

Obviously...

you don't know anything about Notre Dame's ED program. Look it up.

You are actually the reason I have a profile here. I saw the link on your facebook and loved the idea. Thanks on the congrats about GW. Good luck on yours. It would be cool if we both ended up there! We will have to keep in touch through the process.

I kinda am considering East Coast schools. I would prefer to stay out here on the west coast but it depends on where I get accepted. I would rather go to a great school that has a rep that will see me anywhere in the country than stay out here. I am still waiting to hear from my top west coast schools too.

Hey!

I too will be having a very very long summer! Huzzah to waiting, I say! I can't wait to spend an additional nonrefundable deposit on law school:). Where do you think you'll put a deposit on? Good luck with your waitlists.

No BC

Yeah, I only applied to BU because my mother went there and they have a fairly good MPH/JD program. However, UMD and GW are better, so I'll definitely be staying down here. They made that choice for me:). BC is a great school, but it just doesn't have the programs I'm looking for.

correction...

UMD and GW have better MPH/JD programs...not better in general!:)
